Family and I were in town for the marathon. This hotel was about a 25 minute walk to the mall, or a 5 minute walk to the metro which was very convenient. We had breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant every morning. Every day except Monday they had a buffet or menu option. On Monday they only had the menu available. Also, please note Expedia says the valet is $56 per night, when we were there it was $59 per night plus a $10 tax.

My son had never visited DC. Local attractions are within walking distance of the hotel. The area was clean and appeared safe... there was a strong police presence. Our room faced the city, which is something I requested. However, throughout the night, you could hear police sirens and loud vehicles traveling up and down the street. We've stayed in NYC and I do not ever remember it being that loud at night. I doubt we will choose a view over peace and quiet again should we revisit DC. Worst of all... due to the government shutdown, many of the places we wished to visit we not open. Some of them did not even give visitors a heads up on their websites. We just showed up, expecting them to be open, and they were not. That was frustrating.

The location was perfect for us to walk to all of the attractions. It was close to restaurants-there were a variety of them. The staff was amazing, especially Anthony at the front desk who took good care of us and went out of his way to help us out. The option to store our luggage as we walked around the morning we checked out was so helpful. It was a wonderful experience and we highly recommend this hotel! It is right across the street from a metro stop which made it convenient, but we weren't able to use it after the first day because the elevator was being fixed, and we needed it since we have a wheelchair bound family member (not the hotel's fault!). They honored my husband's Honor's Gold level, even though we couldn't get points due to booking through a third party. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!!
