Soo historic means terrible lightening, thin walls, stains, broken furniture, the bed was soo hard n painful n creeked. The bathroom had stains in tub..terrible liggtennin n water never got hot. Itt was dim liggtening in room n bathroom. Everything was broken n fallin apart...n just ugly. I swear they have never renovated since 1920. Worst stay of my life. We couldnt even talk at night cus of thin walls, we had a noise warning. Entire room was falling apart, a motel would have been better.
A really fun experience. Unusual historical hotel, thay was such a welcome bre ak from formulaic sterile chain hhotels. Good restaurant and friendly helpful staff. Would recommend it
Really wanted to like this place, but there was no hot water, the A/C didn't work properly, there was no tv or any amenities really in the room, and we had to climb up 5 flights of windy unsafe stairs to access our room. Maybe this is good for folks just graduating the hostel phase of their travel journey, but experienced travelers beware!
If you like historical properties with character, you can’t do better in DC. Charming place. Roaring fireplace. Tasty restaurant. Employee-owned. Art all around. I’ll be back
Really loved it here! Beautiful historic property, full of antiques. Tons of storage space. Lovely staff, great food, a quiet and peaceful rest, and quite affordable for the area. I will absolutely stay again on my next visit to DC. Enjoy!
Im a big fan of restored hotels and this one is charming. Not for everyone but me.it is vintage, super clean, no elevator so what, but 3 minutes walkbtovthe Philippines embassy. So charming outside tge cyrb appeal is so romantic.
I need more time to share how I truly feel. But this place is stunning! I stayed in thr penthouse and the room pulse the staff was top notch. It’s like stepping back in time to colonial America. The staff was warm and welcoming and brought my bags up to the top floor. Thank you so much to all the staff. Keep up the great work! Oh and the bar and restaurant is fantastic. Get the burger and fries!
The Tabard inn was loving from the decor to the staff and location. It is historical so remeber you will have to take the stairs so be prepared but other than that every minute there was perfect! Make sure you eat at their restaurant it was so good and live jazz on a monday made for the most lovely break after walking back from the national mall
This is no ordinary Inn. It reminds me of a number of similar establishments in England that are one of a kind.
I think the fact the Tabard is majority owned by the employees is a major factor in the exceptional service and ambiance.
