The Hearth! On site parking! Minutes to restaurants, groceries and nightlife.
Enjoy a stylish and rememberable experience at The Hearth! This hidden gem is centrally located in the amazing Bloomingdale neighborhood with lots to offer. It is minutes away from food, bars, nightlife, grocery stores, and local farmers markets. Less than 5 mins away from Historical U St Corridor, Howard Univ, and metro rail to access the entire city! Less than 10 mins away from Downtown, National Mall, Union Station, Navy Yard, and The Wharf! Less than 15 mins away from Ronald Reagan Airport.
Traveled to DC for a convention with my family and 9month infant child. This home was perfect! The house was very spacious with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms upstairs. The master bedroom was immaculate with a large closet and an amazing en-suite shower. The hallway bathroom was spacious as well. Mirrors and lighting in both bathrooms were top tier. The first floor has a powder room, however there was a missing part during our stay that made it only partially operational. It was still a convenient feature for the lower level. It also included a Pack n Play and High Chair for my daughter. The house has central air but for those who like to sleep with a fan, each room has a standalone fan in the closet that can be used. The kitchen was immaculate with everything you needed -toaster, keurig etc. We grocery shopped at the local Safeway and there was plenty of room in the refrigerator to accommodate our purchases. One item to note is that only the master bedroom upstairs has a tv. This was not a problem for us, but just wanted to make those aware if watching tv in bed is your thing. I would also caution anyone with elders that have limited mobility because the stairs in the house and outside can be pretty steep. The location was great and most Uber/Lyft rides were quick 10-20 and the higher end was primarily due to the size requested.Overall, outstanding rental and the host was very accommodating. Would definitely stay again!
We enjoyed our stay while visiting DC for the week. Great communication, quick responses whenever there was a question/concern. Loved being able to walk to Big Bear Cafe for breakfast
By far the easiest stay ever. The house was very clean and well stocked with things like TP, paper towels, linens and towels. Itâs furnished well, the beds are very comfortable. All the appliances are new, air fryer, portable fans/heaters, luggage rackâŠ. they thought of anything you may need. Host is very pleasant and easy to communicate with. We had a SUV and parked in the back. Also rented scooters to get to and from the Metro. Quiet neighborhood.
Exactly like the pictures and was super clean and fresh!! Great neighborhood. We felt safe the whole time while staying here. Darlese was fast to respond back when we had a few questions. Out front there are certain days through the week that you canât park on a specific side of the street for a few hours while the street is being cleaned so just watch out for that. We had a wonderful time and I would definitely recommend this place!!
The Hearth was a nice place to stay for the week with friends. It had everything we needed. Plenty of kitchen accessories if you want to cook and a Keurig and coffee pot. There is a parking space behind the unit. It has a garage door, but it wasn't working while we were there. The host said it will be fixed this summer. We have a Lincoln Aviator, which is a medium/large SUV. It fit with no problem, and I think the garage door would shut if working. We left it parked the week and used uber everywhere to avoid finding parking. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Plenty of towels. Had some basic staples. If you want food I would suggest bringing it with you, if possible. We all felt safe walking day and late evening. I would recommend this as a convenient place to stay. 1 1/2-2miles from main places to visit.
We enjoyed our stay at The Hearth. Itâs a great house with modern furnishings, a great kitchen, and super nice bathrooms. There is parking on premises or on street in you have larger than a midsize suv. The owner was responsive and helpful. We would absolutely stay there again if back in DC!
Really nice redone brownstone type house, perfect for our family. Couple of things to note, the wood floors on the second floor make it impossible for any sneaking around. Bathrooms were really nice and showers comfortable. There are restaurants close by and a Trader Joeâs walking distance but bring a backpack or two. We would stay here again.
Our family visited DC in early December and thoroughly enjoyed The Hearth. The place was super clean, well stocked, and the decor was even prettier than the pictures indicate. Communication with our host great. She was responsive to our questions. The location was good for us as we were visiting all the major museums and monuments in town.
This house is even more beautiful in person! The house is equipped with everything we needed and super clean. The host was very responsive and answered any questions we had. 10/10!!
Clean house, fully equipped, great neighborhood, lots of options!
My family really enjoyed our stay here. The house was incredibly clean, very comfortable, and nicely and simply decorated. We loved having two floors to spread out (bedrooms, baths, and w/d upstairs & kitchen/dining and living room and 1/2 bath downstairs) and although there were tenants in the basement unit below us, we never saw them and hardly heard them while we were there. There were lots of towels, plenty of soap for dishwasher and laundry loads, etc. and plenty of cookware for the breakfasts and the occasional dinners that we had there.
The street and nearby neighborhood is in a really safe easy-to-access-to-everything location. We didn't have a car while we were there, but there is a covered carport for one small car just down the back stairs that we had access to. It took us 10-15 minutes to walk to the Shaw Metro, but we wound up using the bus a lot and various convenient bus stops were less than a 5 minute walk away.
We loved the BBQ place just around the corner, and there were easy convenience stores nearby as well as other restaurants for quick grocery supplies when needed or for take out.
Darlese was quick to respond to inquiries, and check in and out was easy and uncomplicated (just need to gather towels, take out the garbage, and run the dishwasher). We highly recommend a stay here!
We all really loved the decor. The owner has fabulous taste and it was a pleasure to enjoy the space. The parking space was a bonus. The space was as described in the listing though we didn't see a pullout sofa in the living room. (We didn't need it though.)
The location was perfect for our needs and the neighborhood is quiet at night.
We did have an problem with the heat not working and it couldn't be fixed until the week after we checked out. Fortunately the weather wasn't terribly cold and the heaters helped in the bedrooms but not the large open 1st floor. We asked for and received a small refund.
We couldn't find the guidebook in the unit - we looked everywhere. There is an online version but I didn't have my computer with me so it was a challenge to find it.
If we need that amount of space for a future visit, we would return.
