We liked that it was close to Union Square where we can catch buses or trains to where ever we wanted to go. We never needed a car

Close to government buildings. Liked the daily amount given by the hotel for food or beverages. $10 per day.

The high tech minimalist vibe of Yotel is clearly popular for a lot of people. I guess we're the minority. We found the room cramped (could there have been at least one chair though?). You basically enter your room through the bathroom, with a very odd WC (no real privacy) and shower. The bed was ok, a little too firm for my tastes, but the pillows were terrific. If you're traveling solo and planning only to use the room to crash, it might be ok. And maybe we're not bright, but it took way too long to figure out the strange lighting system.

I had a wonderful time at this hotel. I arrived after a stressful travel day and was immediately greeted by the receptionist as I walked in the door, she was very friendly and helpful and directed me to the check in kiosk, afterwards she helped me figure out the VIP meal voucher info and gave me a rundown of all the important hotel information. The best and kindest hotel reception service I’ve experienced in a long time. The room was very comfortable and the coffee machines in the hallways were very nice. I will absolutely be returning next time I am in DC
