4 BD 3 BA Log Cabin Hot Tub Game Room & Awesome Views: Newly Paved Access
Ahkontshuck View, located in scenic Maggie Valley, North Carolina. Maggie Valley is nestled next to the Great Smoky Mountains. Ahkontshuck is a native Indian term for âhilly landâ which describes the view from our deck. The house sits on a quiet, wooded lot at the top of a mountain that is just a few minutes from downtown Maggie Valley. At just over 3000 square feet, the house has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The living room and dining room on the first floor have a cathedral ceiling with lots of windows to the view of the valley below. The Moose Trails bedroom has a queen size bed and a 27â television with DVD and VHS players. The adjoining bathroom features a walk-in shower, a large garden tub, and vanity with his and her sinks. The Americana, Victorian and Miss Kittyâs bedrooms each have a queen size bed and a 27â television with DVD and VHS players. Downstairs game room area includes a pool table, foosball table and card table.
The property was very nice and great for a large group. The owners were very responsive and helpful. The ski area was further than indicated in the description but other than that the stay was perfect.
We unfortunately were not able to stay at the cabin due to it being inaccessible after Hurricane Helene. The host was gracious enough to refund our money. So I in turn give 5 stars to help promote business. Hopefully we can try again next fall.
The home is highly functional (lots of fun with hot tub and game room), very close to Asheville and Cataloochee Ski Area, and has absolutely breathtaking views...deck faces East for amazing Mountain sunrise views. Home was very well equipped...truly needs nothing. The way up the mountain is a bit challenging with hairpin switchbacks...if going during the winter, recommend 4WD.
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home. The view from the deck was the most majestic mountain view we have ever had. The cabin was beautifully decorated. The beds were comfortable, and the hot tub was wonderful after a day of hiking. I highly recommend this home!
Our vacation in the smokies was fantastic. The cabin was clean, quiet and comfortable. The finished basement was a great place to hang out at night after a day of hiking and site seeing. We hiked to 13 different waterfalls and spent a day at Chimney Rock. Asheville is a short drive away and Waynesville is only 10-15 minutes away for any needs. The view of the valley is awesome and sitting on the deck in the morning with a cup of coffee is a great way to start the day.
this was the best place to stay if you can get up the drive way
we travel with our motorcycle in our van for vacation.
I barley got a one ton chevy van loaded with my motorcycle up that driveway After getting up , we never left for fear of not getting back up. We drove off site with family instead of being able to take the bike .
The Partial dirt / gravel portion road is not good for a motorcycle....
There needs to be a bit more better description of what's expected to get to the property.
Having said all that .
The property is 5 star for sure.
The view is great
The overall experience was great .
Everything once you top the hill is awsome...
This house is off the beaten path and way up on the hill but the trip is so worth it! The view into the valley is spectacular! The house is very spacious and has the best equipped kitchen I've seen. The open living space was great for our family to spend time together. The game room was loads of fun and the hot tub was great for winding down after a long day of hiking and exploring. We traveled miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Easy access to Ashville, Smoky Mountain National Park and all the great trailheads in between.
Had a really nice stay with my family and some friends, the kids really enjoyed to pool table and had a great time skiing. This place has a wonderful view looking over the town below, I definitely would recommend to others.
This is property is a a MUST SEE home! It was provided with rooms that were spaced off and my teenage boys absolutely loved the game room and the hot tub! We would definitely stay here again! The road up the road was scary the first time, but a couple of times up and down the mountain, you became a pro at driving it! We didn't have not even one compliant about this house! ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!
The view is five star and an incredible value at this price point. The cabin was very clean and comfortable and very well built. Plenty of room for up to 6-8 people. Well laid out. Big smart TV in living area.
Game room in basement. Very nice wraparound deck. Attentive property manager.
My only Negative comment is that it took me several days to figure out the driveway. the driveway itself is asphalt and fine, but there is a gravel road leading to it and a very sharp left turn onto the driveway with a drop off between the driveway and the gravel road. If you donât negotiate it right you will skid and slide- particularly if you have rear wheel drive. My suggestion.: Go straight in on the low side of the driveway without turning until your rear wheels are completely off the gravel and onto the asphalt. Then back up slightly and start straightening your vehicle towards the hill. Back and forth. Probably need to do this 4 or 5 times to get the angle right to proceed up the hill. Then itâs no problem.
With that as a caveat, was really an enjoyable week there. The view is layer after layer of mountain range. We had a full moon several nights and it was astounding what you could see in the dark way out there.
Was easy to get to Cherokee and great smoky mts NP for great hikes. Parkway between Waynesville and Asheville has great sites too.
We could have stayed here forever! This cabin is beautiful! There are so many charming personal touches, the kitchen is well appointed, and the game room is fantastic. We loved the hot tub, the swing, and the views of the mountains! I took so many pictures. There is even a wonderful trail up the mountain right behind the cabin. We did visit a few waterfalls and trails, but we stayed and enjoyed the cabin quite a lot during our stay.
Staying here was an outstanding experience for our family. In the midst of COVID-19, we were able to relax, enjoy the amazing view, and still do some family activities. The place was immaculate. We ate in almost every meal and found the kitchen to be well equipped. The location allowed us to take day trips hiking to waterfalls, Biltmore house, or stay in town to play putt putt. We made good use of the foosball game, card table, and pool table. Sitting on the deck appreciating the mountain views and the bird songs was glorious. The hot tub was a bonus after hiking trails. We all loved the place and hope to be back again one day soon!
First of all this property is amazing. The property is so much better than the picture show.
This property has everything you would want. The bottom floor has a bedroom a huge game room and a full bath. The game room is set up like a saloon with a full bar sink and refrigerator, foosball table pool table and poker table.
. The hot tub is in immaculate condition. The main floor has two bedrooms and a full bath the kitchen has every gadget including two crockpots. There are a lot of extras that people have left to pay things forward. We were left with wZiploc bags trash bags, spices, salt and pepper, birthday candles, soap, dish detergent and anything you could imagine There is a charcoal grill thatâs in great condition for cooking. When we were there someone left charcoal and fluid and we bought an additional bag and left that as well. We did lose power and there are no candles in the house or flashlights with batteries so I would recommend bringing that . The top floor is a master with a full bath and a soaking tub together with a loft and a desk if you have to work while youâre there. There are plenty of bath towels however if you need beach type towels you might wanna bring. There were two in the house but thatâs it. Also thereâs a Keurig. Any pot pan utensil baking dish you could ever imagine. If you specifically want Tupperware you might want to bring that. Before you travel up the hill make sure you grab yourself some firewood for the fireplace. There are hundreds of DVDs and VHS tapes thereâs also a Roku TV. There are books there are magazines there are tons and tons and tons of games. There is a dartboard but no darts so bring your own. The AC works great thereâs a side-by-side refrigerator and the washer and dryer and dishwasher are all in great working order. Check in was super easy. The climb up the mountain is not what youâre going to expect but you definitely get used to it. We were with a group and we each had V-8âs and weâre super glad we did. We rank this cabin a 10 out of 10
