Quirky hotel with a âwitchâs hatâ tower as a nod to the Wookey Hole Witch. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times, whenever anything was needed.
The hotel is surrounded by a huge car park, also used for the Wookey Hole Caves resort, so there is nothing and nowhere for kids to play on outside.
The hotel is in decent condition: the rooms have been given a recent makeover, bedding is clean and comfy and the bathroom was clean. However, there are no complimentary toiletries to use, the rooms feel a little âtiredâ in terms of fixtures and fittings, the only air is through the small opening from the windows or a small fan and tea/coffee facilities are very basic.
Breakfast was included in the price. Buffet style, constantly refilled, excellent quality of food and staff instantly responded when asked if something was available. Dinner could be booked as well - the menu was a little limited but food was again of good quality.
The only entertainment for families was a very small and limited games room. There was the addition of a free cinema evening twice a week over the summer, which was a nice touch and helped with keeping the littles occupied.
Would recommend if you wanted to visit the resort and explore the local area, but not for longer stays.
