Angela Hodge rented our property, and we informed her several hours before her arrival that the hot tub controller had stopped working and was not functioning correctly. Specifically, the jet button wouldn't turn on the high jets. However, the hot tub was still functioning and up to operating temperature. After Angela arrived, she stayed for several hours until around 9:10 pm. Despite our policy stating that we were unavailable after 9 pm, she demanded a full refund and claimed she was unhappy with the hot tub situation. We tried to see what could be done to help her, but nothing except a full refund would appease her, and she was leaving immediately. We attempted to resolve the issue but were unsuccessful. Therefore, my family and I went to the property to try and resolve the issues or see them gone. However, when we arrived, we found Angela and her partner in the hot tub, which she had earlier claimed was not working. She seemed to be enjoying a nice, quiet evening in the hot tub. We spoke with Angela at length, and eventually, we all agreed that she would stay and we would give her a partial refund. We thought everything was settled, but two days later, VRBO contacted us, stating that Angela wanted a full refund, even though she had stayed and agreed to a partial refund. We had to discuss the matter again with a third party, but it still wasn't to her liking. Six days later, we received a notification from the bank that Angela stated that she had not authorized the payment and that we had fraudulently charged her account, which opened up a whole new can of worms. We believe that it is only fair to warn any prospective owners to be aware of this guest. We will not be renting to her ever again.

Uninformed Extra daily charges

Regardless of rebuttal from host- my 6 yr old and 8 yr old grandkids visited me and spent various nights. I was initially charged an ADDITIONAL $350.00 on my second day of week long visit. Even at this ridiculous overcharge they were not there every night. I was not told verbally or in writing host expectation was $25 per night per child. If that specification was in writing, there would have been NO booking. I had to contact VRBO to intervene. Dogs barking and raging neighbors cursing at one another. Additionally, the ad does in fact state here is camera surveillance. And there most certainly is. Its Totally uncomfortable.

Gayla, It was wonderful meeting you and your husband. He was a delight to talk to and carried himself with great composure. I understand that you felt the need to vent, but it seems that some of the things you said are not entirely accurate. If you had read the house rules or been honest about the number of guests that would be staying, you would have known what to expect. Unfortunately, I have no control over the neighbors' arguments. On the positive side, I appreciate that you left our place in good condition even when you were upset. It speaks volumes about your character and shows that you are a good person at heart. Please know that we are not the type of people to judge someone based on one bad experience. You and your husband are welcome back anytime. Sincerely, Keith

A beautiful home!

This home has a gorgeous backyard with a hot tub and fire pit that is great for friends. A quiet neighborhood, with beautiful scenery. Would recommend this to anyone.

The property owner Kevin was lovely and accommodated my numerous questions with answers and insights. The house was fantastic, 3 great bedrooms , kitchen was stocked with pots, pans etc...The absolute best hot tub that was very clean....It was a top notch experience and I recommend it with 5 stars.

Not what it says

This home is advertised on Rend Lake and is no where near there. States it on a lake and has kayaks. Non of this is true. I also never received my check in info. I had to call at 8p just to get into the home. For the amount of money paid for this very shoddy property it should at least be where they say it is. The neighbor is a run down trailer with trash piled up right next to the hot tub. Unless a refund is issued I will no longer use vrbo.
