Horseshoe Lake, located 10 minutes from downtown Ann Arbor, is a private 85-acre all-sports lake teeming with wildlife and excellent fishing opportunities. If you're lucky, you might even see deer coming to the water's edge across the lake for a drink. The lake hosts various fish species, making it a great spot for fishing.

Additionally, we have resident blue herons and swans, and you might even catch sight of an eagle. With three kayaks and a paddleboard included with the rental, you have the chance to experience the lake up close. This stunning property is conveniently situated near the US-23 expressway to Ann Arbor and Brighton, and it’s just minutes from the Big House.

Longhorns visiting the Big House

We had a fantastic and most memorable first time visit to Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan. The accommodations were spotless, charming, well appointed, and on a wonderful quiet property overlooking a beautiful private lake. Cool Michigan weather allowed for fabulous firewood in the fire pit lakeside. Some terrific fishing and only 15+ minutes to The Big House for football game.

Cabin on the lake

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming cabin on the lake, and it was a truly unforgettable experience. The cabin itself was cozy and well-maintained, providing a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern amenities. The large windows offered stunning views of the lake, which created a serene and peaceful atmosphere throughout the day. One of the highlights of our stay was the easy access to the lake. We spent hours kayaking, fishing, and simply relaxing by the water's edge. The private dock was a fantastic addition, allowing us to enjoy the water at any time without the crowds you'd typically find at a public beach. In the evenings, we gathered around the fire pit to roast marshmallows and share stories, adding a perfect end to our days. Inside, the cabin was well-equipped with a fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and a cozy living area with a fireplace that was perfect for cooler nights. The decor was tasteful and fitting for the natural setting, enhancing the overall cabin feel. Overall, this cabin on the lake was a fantastic getaway that offered tranquility and natural beauty.
