The beds in this unit were extremely comfortable — but the unit itself was just average. The checkin instructions told us to open a lock box to obtain a key, yet the lock on the unit door used a code (no need for us to obtain a key). The kitchen pans were in pretty rough shape and there was no shampoo in the main level bathroom but the upstairs bathroom was fully stocked. The dryer had a pair of leftover sheets from the previous renter/maid.The most frustrating thing was that the patio was not accessible due to it being unsafe. Well we appreciate the hand written note informing us of the unsafe deck — it was quite worn and appeared to have been in place for quite some time. However, we were informed about the deck issue until we arrived. In fact, we had to have a maintenance visit because there was a kitchen shelf missing a clip and the master bedroom closet was stuck in the closed position. He was able to resolve both issues but in the process, he told us that has been an issue for over a year — yet we were never told about the problem and should be compensated in some way.

Swindled

The patio, which should’ve been the highlight of the condo, was rotted & warped so bad that the sliding glass doors leading out to it were bolted shut to prevent anyone from going out there. This wasn’t mentioned at all in the listing. In the bedroom, I couldn’t use the closet to hang up my clothes; it’s was somehow rigged to prevent the door from being opened. The building smelled. For a place associated with Grand Traverse resort, it was disappointing and massively overpriced.

Stay was okay

The door code was not included in the email or message instructions & could not get a hold of someone for about 30 minutes. Could not use the patio due to it being unsafe. I would have liked to be made aware if this before I booked & confirmed. There was a fireplace but no instructions on if it worked or not. For the price I paid expected more. Seems like a very old building but condo was clean & location was perfect.

Pleasant condo

Nice, clean condo in a good location. There are a couple maintenance issues that still have not been addressed on main level. The bedroom closet door could not be opened at all so had to hang clothes in living room closet; inconvenient. Main level shower head shoots water onto floor, could not adjust.

Won’t be staying here again

Location was good…Condo needed a lot of work…Here is a list: Master Bedroom closet does not open (Carpet to high), Dresser in master bedroom leaning so far forward we didn’t put our clothes in it for fear it would topple…No closet, no dresser. The sliding door in the living room does not lock. Many electrical outlets did not work. Porch lights on balcony did not work. Smoke detector is off of the wall upstairs. Upstairs bathroom shower head was disgusting! Main floor bathtub leaks The couch was disgusting and needs to be cleaned or replaced. Check out information was finally sent to us at 10am on DAY of checkout. These are just the issues we singled out. I would not stay here until all of these items were addressed.

Decent-ish place; maintenance is lacking

First of all, we have always had a great experience renting on VRBO, so this is our first-ever somewhat-negative review. Overall, the condo itself was as described...beds were comfortable; location is convenient; small deck overlooking a corner of the golf course. Surprisingly, it had a stacked washer/dryer, which is not even in the description. However, the construction quality is poor and due to mostly maintenance-type issues, we can only give this maybe 3.5 stars. The doors to the bedroom/bathroom couldn't be closed, due to warping/improper fitting in the door frames, the linen closet door was coming off its hinges, due to the same problem and we never could open the closet door in the downstairs bedroom, which was a big inconvenience. (A July review had the same complaint, so it’s inexcusable that this would still be the case a month later.) Dining area light bulb burned out; shower faucets drip constantly; and the public stairs (the unit is on the third level) carpeting is filthy/stained...not a great first impression. This is not a premium experience, for sure.

Poor Communication and Inaccurate Listing

Overall I would NOT recommend this property for the below reasons. Cons: - Listing is advertised as “completely renovated” but the only thing that was somewhat new was the LVT flooring and carpet. The furniture is old, walls and ceilings had cracks, doors were not aligned correctly and can’t be closed, and the condo seemed unusually humid our entire stay. - WIFI was not working the entire stay. We reached out to Christian and he told us to contact Grand Traverse Resort (GTR) and that was the only way to resolve the issues we were facing with the Wifi. We contacted GTR multiple times and they were no help and would not send anyone out to the condo to help resolve the issue. Christian stopped responding to our messages all together after we received no help from GTR. - Excessive amount of earwigs inside condo. We had to kill about 10 when we first arrived. - Shower heads were very dirty and seemed clogged as the water pressure was poor. - Main Floor Bedroom closet would not open. Outlet in bedroom had exposed wires/no face plate (fire hazard). - The air vents in the condo looked like they haven’t been cleaned in years (extremely dirty). Pros: - good location - plenty of parking for cars and boat trailer

Grand Traverse Getaway with a view

Wonderful condo with a location close or accessible to everything. The unit is equipped well for a short stay with a set of dishes, basic kitchen utensils, 2 king size beds and two bathrooms. The unit was clean and well maintained. If you are headed to the Traverse City area for golf (literally out the back door), wine tasting, the Sleeping Bear Dunes, or just exploring all that the Grand Traverse Bay area has to offer, this is a perfect property for your trip!
