Adorable Two Bedroom Cottage Guesthouse (2 Story)
Charming two-story loft guest house with 2 bedrooms upstairs with a study area. Downstairs a great room with a kitchen and dining. Bathroom with a private screened-in porch and front deck. Wrap around deck. Only a 7 min drive to beach and a walk away from a lake where you can fish and do small boating. Lake has trails for family and dogs along with playgrounds for kids
Very quaint and clean house. The owner was extremely friendly. The host family even provided breakfast items in our refrigerator for our stay. We will definitely stay here again if we make it back to Wilmington. Thank you for a great stay.
Richard and Faith have a beautiful little hideaway. Everything you could possibly want is here. They are gracious hosts even waiting up late when you're plane gets delayed 5 hours! Many little kind extras that you would not expect but are so happy to have when you visit this property. It feels more like they have given a little piece of their home to their guests. Even at the late hour, after traveling so long, we got a personal tour to make sure we were comfortable and even a hug to welcome us to Wilmington.
Richard and Faye were phenomenal! The hospitality was out of this world! They provided us a tour of the cottage, explained expectations regarding the property, as well as leg us know where we could walk put 2 month old puppy. This was an EXTREMELY great experience. This is my second time staying at and an air b and b and my partners first time, it was a great experience. The cottage was located on their property, the owners gave us pir privacy while checking in periodically. We DEFINITELY will stay again!
5 Stars â Thoughtful Hosts & Perfectly Appointed Cottage
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this cozy and beautifully maintained cottage. From the moment we arrived, the experience was warm and welcoming. The owner and his lovely wife personally greeted us and gave a quick tour of the cottage, which was such a nice personal touch. The space was very clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully stocked. We were welcomed with a bowl of fresh organic fruit, a great variety of teas and K-Cups, and even fresh milk, bottled water, eggs, and bacon in the fridge. There was also a nice selection of individual cold cerealsâperfect for easy mornings. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom was stocked with soap, shampoo, and conditioner. We especially loved starting our mornings with coffee on the screened-in porchâŠsuch a peaceful spot.A unique and modern touch was the availability of both Siri and Google assistants on both levels of the cottage, which made it easy to play music or get quick weather updates. Coming home after dark was also easy thanks to the motion sensor lighting. The hosts clearly put a lot of thought into creating a welcoming and relaxing space. Weâd happily stay here again and highly recommend it!
Arrived at address & it looked so different from pictures we circled block a couple times. The guest house & the Host house is approximately 6 feet apart. Neighbors very close as well. The lake, park no where in sight as we circled the block. We were met by the 2 Hosts. They were pleasant as they gave us a tour of the guest quarters. It was clean and well stocked with what you would need & more. The day of booking, the Host asked the purpose of my visit. I stay vrboâs several times a year in Wilmington because of family there. The house we usually rent is no longer available. I told him in this email I had two 9 lb. Yorkies. SOSiBella, my Medical Alert with certifications, paperwork & my other, Mavilyn. I was then notified by Vrbo, â The Host wants to charge you a Pet Feeâ I confirmed the two pets, in a reply email, and stated I accepted that.We stayed two nights. On day of check out, I received an email from Host accusing me of â reporting one pet, showing up with two, & not paying for them.â I referred him to the email on day of booking. We were there 3 days. Walking both petâs multiple times of day & the guest quarters are so close to hosts home, it would be impossible to walk them or even come & go to your car , without hosts being aware. And, with traffic, it took us at least 40 minutes to get to the beach where my family lives. This is the most disturbing stay with Vrbo ever. His emails to me have been insulting & hurtful.
From start to finish, this place was wonderful!! The hosts, Richard and Faith, were kind and hospitable! They provided assorted breakfast items in the fridge/freezer, like Eggo waffles, eggs, sausage patties, assorted cereals, fruit, and milk. The cottage stay came ready-made for cozy comfort! The bed was so comfortable! If we needed anything, they were available ! Richard gave us suggestions for good local restaurants . Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, this cottage is definitely the place to stay!
This is a great location, very convenient to airport, UNCW, and Wrightsville Beach, restaurants and shopping. Quiet neighborhood great driveway parking for one car and plenty of street parking.
The host is very hospitable and he has thought of absolutely everything one could need on travel!
Richatd was very detailed about everything when checking in and even had muffins waiting for us,we were traveling woth our boxer and standard poodle so we loved there was a park within walking distance, and it is pretty close to downtown wilmington and local beaches. Pwrfect for a weekend getaway in wilmington if you have dogs and dont care about staying right on a beach
The rental is a charming guest cottage with all amenities and a screened in porch. It was very comfortable and in a nice neighborhood. Convenient location close to many restaurants, parks and public beach access. The property owners were so wonderful and very accommodating. I would absolutely stay here again!
Very nice property. The Host Richard was very accommodating to our needs. The place is very clean and conveniently located. Looking forward to returning here!!!
This host is amazing! We had fresh fruit and muffins waiting on us after our long drive and the home was already air conditioned and had ice in the ice maker! Beautiful home with every amenity you could imagine. This is the only place I'll stay next time we visit the area.
Pros: The owners really went out of their way to make me feel welcome, comfortable, and safe. Richard escorted me through the house to show me the food and comfort items they left for me, the layout of the house, and discussed security and lighting before asking if I felt safe. It was a nice touch. Iâve never been invited into a rental by an owner before!
-Hotel-style towels and fixtures in the bathroom, including a very cool lighted make-up mirror.
-Very comfortable beds.
-Very comfortable couch and chairs.
-Nice lighting installed to give the downstairs a soft glow.
-I was thrilled to have an electric kettle for making tea (my primary hot drink) because most rentals donât have one!
Cons: I was allergic to something in the downstairs area and although Richard wanted to fix the problem, I couldnât zero in on what the problem was, and I left early because of it.
-The wi-fi struggles - I had a hard time navigating the internet-based apps on my phone because it was sluggish.
-There are basic eating utensils in the kitchen - it works for one or two people but not much more without having to wash them after each meal.
-There are standing, oscillating fans in both bedrooms, which are necessary in the summer because the upstairs isnât air conditioned and gets warm. This is not likely to be a problem in the cooler months, but if you like to be cold when you sleep, this wonât work for you.
Overall, this is a cute spot in a decent location. Richardâs hospitality was great!
Our stay was amazing!! Richard is the best host, had everything we needed and more. Gave us an extensive tour and was always available to us. Super friendly and accommodating. Cottage was lovely- very clean and well stocked. Perfect location to Wrightsville beach and downtown! Would book again in a heartbeat!
The property in Wilmington was just as described. The space had everything we needed and the hosts were friendly and available. Although we were tucked away in a neighborhood, it was easy to get to major roads and highways.
Mr Richard graciously welcomed us and was so very thorough in sharing where everything was! We enjoyed our stay. Quaint tiny cottage with lots of amenities! Mr Richard says he will be adding a driveway soon, as the current one is a shared entrance close to main house and close to neighbors. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us.
We normally stay in a camping cabin at the KOA - this time we wanted something more comfortable for a longer stay with our dogs
The Tupelo Guest House hit all the boxes - it was in the perfect location - 5 minutes from Market Street so it was close to everything. I had a great kitchen with a coffee bar and dining table, the living room was great with comfortable couch and two chairs. The two bedrooms had comfortable beds and linens. The bathroom had everything we could need including nice (big and plus) towels, plus a washer dryer - wow. There was a big TV in the living room, and TVs in each bedroom
Let me tell you about our host Richard and his wife - the nicest folks. We arrived several hours before check in time - not an issue. Richard was there to show us all the features of the house (music on demand - Siri...) and it was stocked with fresh fruit, milk, juice and eggs as well as a wide selection of cereal, coffee, tea and the fixings. They live at the property and checked in periodically to see if we needed anything.
The house was immaculate
AND there was no issue with us having our dogs (we travel to events so they are great travelers) and Richard gave us directions to a nearby park
We were there 5 days - the best vacation ever!
Since we travel to Wilmington often we will stay there again!
Quite the charmer! Very quiet neighborhood. Hosts are the sweetest people and very eager to ensure their guests enjoy their stay.
We did not venture out to find the lake- hoping to do that next time.
Hi people, let me tell you how much I enjoyed this visit. First, I loved that my dog was welcomed (she is a German Rotti, not a small breed)! The house was perfect for our family needs. The owner was so nice and accommodating. Mr. Richard greeted me with a warm welcoming. I was given a full tour of the house and its amenities. Most importantly, I felt safe and was comfortable. The property is a nice size with a nice size yard. The location was convenient for our purposes and the house fit our needs. I Visited October 6 through7, 2023 for a class reunion(Laney!). This cottage guest home is truly stunning. The house was well equipped, clean, and comfortable. The space was a great place to relax. The place looks exactly like the listing photos. I loved the attention to details of what you would need to feel like at home. The kitchen was fully stocked (coffee machine and filters are provided along with other extra snacks (bonus)! Everything a guess might need has been considered in detail and provided. He went over the expectations with providing you with your everyday needs. The bathroom and kitchen are simple, yet pretty and more adequately supplied and appointed. Bedrooms were very clean and comfortable. This house is well decorated with living plants. This charming environment makes you feel at home. We would stay here again. Rick was readily available for any questions. Check-in is simple as are the check-out. I would like to say, thank you again to the Ballards.
Richard and his wife were very friendly. Apon arrival Richard had supplied fresh fruit, milk, eggs as well as additional breakfast items. Bed was very comfortable.
We arrived and Richard was waiting for us. He lives in the next door house. He is available without being intrusive. He stocked the house with many essentials, including milk and eggs. Cleanliness is very important to me; I would use his cleaning service for my own home if I could.
