Wonderful hosts.

We had a lovely stay at the White Lodge Hotel. The hosts were very accommodating and when we had a few parking issues (due to the car park being quite small) the host offered lifts. In the morning we lost our car keys and the host helped search the streets for them and came to the police station to see if theyd been handed in! He offered for us to stay there as long as we needed while we sorted it.

White house lodge hotel,Bowness.

Advertised on internet as having room service and full english breakfast. No. Central heating . No. Wouldn't have booked it had we known. Definitely not worth the money we paid for two nights. We would have left after first night but monies had already been taken off our bank account and we let it go more fool us.

White Lodge

Lovely place to stay and very friendly owner's. They allowed us to check in earlier and advised us of popular places to visit during our stay. The room was lovely and the cleanliness was excellent. Location was great as well. Would definitely go back.

Ok. Not worth £130

Nice enough just to get your head down for the night in a good location. Little things missing like no shampoo (only Aldi body wash), no sugar with the coffee/tea facilities in the room, no welcome pack/info, TV signal very poor & intermittent.

Lovely stay clean and convenient close to amenities and both Bowness and Windermere and is walkable . The room was very small but for price and lotion fair . Dont book if you struggle with stairs . The shower could do with updating as the door didn’t close and buttons fall off and shower head Loose.

Poor experience

We were in Room 9 at the very top of 3 floors (no lift) this room is tiny, on entering the room you go down 5 steps to a double bed pushed up against the wall. There is a tiny wardrobe at the bottom of the bed & a very small sink in the corner, there is virtually no room at the side of the bed. The bathroom has a shower & toilet you have to dry yourself at the side of the bed as there is no room when stepping out of the shower because the toilet almost touches the shower door. There is no shelving in the bathroom just a towel rail the sink, next to the bed is too small to rest toothbrushes on, there is no shelf or rail for a hand towel. There is no fan in the room & the Iron/Ironing board are well used with the Iron having a burnt brown plate. The room itself appeared clean we had booked for 2 nights but checked out after one, the host was on site & said to my husband he wasn't surprised as when he saw we had 2 small cases he knew the room would be too small. Maybe this information should have been available at the time of booking. We were booked in for 2 nights but were not offered a refund for only staying the one night, I know the saying "you get what you pay for" but I wouldnt recommend this property even if the price was reduced.

Not a very nice experience.

Apparently The guest I booked came late. When they came the owner or staff were swearing and looks very angry and asking “what time do you call this?” Despite of my guests saying “Sorry” she continued swearing. Eventually he allowed the to get in but they were very distress. I accept responsibility of not informing them for being late but he has no right to swear at the guests. Very rude. Not a very nice experience.

At the moment there are building works ongoing, but I'm sure that will be short lived. A little confusion around the breakfast situation, I read on Expedia that you can book a breakfast that will be served in a hamper to your room, when we mentioned this to the guy at check in, he told us that they haven't provided that service for years! Only to read on the guest information sheet supplied in the room that you can book a breakfast that will be provided in a hamper to your room!!!! This mis information needs sorted to avoid further confusion for guests. Other than that we had a great stay, location is great, parking was no problem. Could do with some way of providing further milk and sugars for the tea and coffee making.
