A fantastic holiday home close to the beach - Number 27, Alderton
Number 27 is a fantastic two-bedroom holiday home situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Alderton from where you can explore the best of the Suffolk countryside and coastline.
The village itself is a five-minute drive from Bawdsey, an area of outstanding natural beauty on the Deben Peninsula with a small, sandy beach with access across the mouth of the River Deben to Felixstowe Ferry via the foot ferry.
There is a lovely, local pub called The Swan just a five minute walk away from the property which is well worth a visit one evening to enjoy a drink.
Shingle Street is a 10-minute drive and the hamlet of Ramsholt, with its famous pub, The Ramsholt Arms that overlooks the river, is only five minutes away. The beautiful market town of Woodbridge is just under a 20-minute drive away where there is a wide variety of boutique shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs as well as a cinema, train station and scenic walks along the River Deben.
The property has been comfortably furnished with a living room at the front and a well-equipped, open-plan kitchen and dining room at the rear with access out into the back garden.
Upstairs there are two double bedrooms, one at the front with bedside tables and built-in wardrobes and the second towards the rear with beautiful, far reaching views, bedside tables and built-in wardrobes. There is a modern family bathroom just off the landing with a shower bath, wash basin, heated towel rail and WC.
Outside there is a wonderful and spacious wrap around garden with outdoor table and chairs as well as a freestanding veranda and BBQ area.
I stayed here with my friend for a couple of days. The house was nicely situated for exploring Suffolk. The inside of the house was great, with a lovely big kitchen that was modern and well equipped with all the facilities you should need. The bathroom was lovely with a fabulous shower, and both bedrooms were comfortable and clean.
Unfortunately, the outside was a little tired and needed a bit of a spruce-up. There are a couple of sheds and an oil tank (which smelled strongly) between you and the field, so thereâs no view. Also, the owner parks their truck essentially in the garden which looks somewhat abandoned.
