A Good and pleasant hotel of 3-4 stars rating. The location is GOOD, as it is within walking distance from the railway station. The hotel is well managed and most of the staff are helpful and friendly; with the exception of booking via EXPEDIA.COM, thought I paid by my credit card when booked the hotel via EXPEDIA.COM; BUT hotel informed NO PAYMENT received and insisted to pay again. Clearified with EXPEDIA.COM, and was informed NOT PAID !!! I paid cash again to the hotel, and would suggest EXPEDIA.COM look into this issue and prevent repeat of such incidence in future. THE ROOM IS good AND CLEAN, so is the bothroom. GENERALLY this is a good hotyel with good management.

Right next to train station

Right next door to the train station even though google maps will bring you to someones backyard. Just exit the train station and its on the left as you leave...you can actually see the hotel from the train platform. It is at the outer edge of town, so its about 1.5hr walk to the center of Yan'an. I did put the do not disturb door card and put the do not disturb signal on, but they still came in my room to clean. I usually dont like my room cleaned during short stays as I am paranoid about my belongings. Next time I guess I should inform the staff directly, not to enter my room. The buffet breakfast was decent. Staff does not speak English, so bring a translator app on your phone. Its on a major street, so bring ear plugs because of all the Chinese drivers who like to honk all the time. Comfortable and clean. Decent amount of shops and restos around...but somewhat far from the downtown action.

Decent, but overpriced

The room stunk horribly of cigarette smoke. I had trouble with my allergies during the stay. In addition, I had some noisy neighbors, kids screaming in the hall after 10 p.m. The breakfast was not very delicious in my opinion, either. The location was very good, close to buses and the train station.

just next to station.

some of the staff can speak fluent english. we stayed at 11th floor but can hear the karaoke music base sounds from 1st floor.
