Located just a stone's throw away from York Minster, this charming 1 bedroom property is something of a hidden retreat.

It benefits from being set just off the street of Gillygate and enjoys all the benefits of being just a minutes' walk from the very heart of the city centre. Once you access the door on street, the entrance porch way transfers you to something of a hidden gem right by the city walls.

The property benefits from having an enclosed patio area at the rear that has views of the city walls and a charming garden area complete with beehive. Almost unheard of for a city centre property!

Inside the ground floor apartment itself there is a spacious lounge area with dining table. A fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. The bedroom comes complete with a king size bed and the bathroom features a walk in shower.

Needs some TLC

Location can’t be faulted. Cleanliness lacking, you can see exactly where the cleaners clean,and don’t clean.Black mould corner lounge room, other dirt in corners, webs etc. Garden slugs appear from behind bathroom sink each day. Back garden unusable, dog muck, bags of garden waste piled up, and 2 very bold rats ( I guess York has always had rats). Pub noise fine,upstairs neighbour very noisy. Lots of downtime for us and phone calls with “tradie” issues. Supplied utensils lacking, fry pan unusable, whole place needs a bloody good clean up,to show its full potential, could only recommend for location. P.s. A little disturbing to wake up and find someone in your backyard at 6.45am (curtains open) Gardener I think? I wish I could have been more positive. Regards Alan Gray.

Lovely Apartment Close to the Action

It was like entering a secret place when I opened the door on the street to walk down a passageway. There, I found a beautiful little apartment with a wonderful garden right next to the York wall. The bed was very comfortable and the living room, cozy, and the kitchen handy. Where I really liked this place because it was close to Yorkminster, the art gallery, the museum the places where walking tours begin were really just five minutes away. There is also a Tesco shopping store right across the street. All I would wish for might be a clothesline to hang up my freshly washed clothes. Detergent was supplied, which was a great bonus.

Great location and very quiet. Very near York Minster and many wonder coffee shops and restaurants. Quite large with nice patio.

Brief Visit to York

Location was good for what we wanted to visit. No mention in the description about being located next to a pub so it was a bit noisy as was the upstairs tenant. The terrace looks far more charming in the photos than what we found during our visit and the bed as well as the bed linens need updating.

Truly Wonderful

This is a wonderful place to stay. The cottage itself is very comfortable and well equipped. The location could not be more convenient, within easy walking distance of the train station. York Minster is right around the corner, as is the entire historic district and its many attractions. And the city's medieval wall? It's in the backyard. The property managers at Stays York are delightful. When we reported what proved to be a minor radiator problem requiring a routine adjustment, someone was at our door in 5 minutes. We would love to return to York and stay in this property again.

Great little property close to everything but yet quiet and peaceful .All the comforts of home only one downside was the strong foul odour in the kitchen which I reported to manager never heard what the outcome was but hopefully they sort out before next guests arrive

Perfect Place for a Couple!

We had such a lovely time staying at the Annex. The property was extremely well kept and charming. We loved the little patio in the back and were thrilled to see the beekeepers one morning taking care of the hives (at the far side of the property). The location is perfect - two minute walk to York Minster, lots of wonderful local pubs and restaurants, yet the flat itself is very quiet because it's at the back of the property. Really, we adored this place! Can't recommend it enough.

Great garden and view of the city walls

The flat was lovely and was in a great location close to the minster. There is a pub next door but generally it wasn’t a problem. One night had live music but they quit by 10:00. Great sitting room and very comfortable.

Centrally located, Dynamite view

This beautifully appointed apartment has a beautiful garden and patio in the back yard. The glass doors out to it full the living room with a relaxing view right in the center of York. You can walk to museums and the cathedral and my husband used a walker. groceries were close. Ancient city arches and walls. It was a trip through time in York, starting before the Romans were there. I would definitely stay here again. The management staff was very helpful and nice.
