First - this is the BEST location you can stay in Yorktown!! The view of the York River and the bridge offers massive entertainment on it's own. We saw a submarine, big naval ship - not battle ship but BIG, navy patrol ships, tug boats, sail boats..... was so great to watch them navigate through and around (the bridge had to open up for some of them).I'm a leisurely walker - and could make my way to many Yorktown restaurants, museums and shops on the Riverwalk in 12 minutes. The beach was right there too!!!Second - expect to sleep well!! All four of our party found the beds to be the most comfortable we had slept in in a long time. We tried all four of them out.Third - the kitchen is well equipped - but measuring spoons & cups and can opener not in the mix. We cooked several times during our week there. It's great to have that option.Fourth - your host Jake is great. We had weather issues to deal with and those were resolved to our satisfaction. Had small issue in the townhouse after arriving and that too was resolved efficiently and really caused no issues.Just wonderful property.... and when we come back to the area we will certainly stay here again!!!!
Very convenient to get into Yorktown, Williamsburg, and Busch Gardens. Nice rooms with comfortable beds. Very responsive owner. Second time staying here and hope to stay again!
The house is very nice and conveniently located near nice walking along the York river and a short drive to Colonial Williamsburg. The owner was very quick to address a minor issue we had. Would highly recommend this house if visiting the area.
This three-story Federal-style home has a delightful view of the York River. The only thing I didn't give five stars to in my review was the property listing, because the photos simply don't do it justice. The rooms are generously spacious, with a deck on both the first and second floors. The entire third floor is one huge bedroom, with two double beds. The second floor has two bedrooms as well as laundry facilities, and EVERY bedroom has its own full bath! We were astonished at how big this home is; it certainly doesn't look so spacious from the outside. (For you Doctor Who fans--it's a TARDIS!!) And the WiFi works well--we streamed a lot of Ms. Rachel YouTube videos to keep the baby occupied. And I had no trouble watching the NFL playoffs on my computer. The kitchen has every modern convenience--I can't tell you how delighted I was to see a Keurig coffeemaker--and the enormous sectional sofa in the living room is wonderfully comfy. There are lots of great restaurants in the vicinity--both eat-in and take-out--and a grocery store is close by, just a few miles down the main thoroughfare (Rt 17). We were down to introduce our new grandson to his great grandmother, so we spent most of our time visiting with family. But trust me, there are lots of historic sights to take in from this centrally located home. I highly recommend it; our family is hoping to make a longer stay in Yorktown an annual event in the future. You will not be disappointed!
This was a great location for exploring Yorktown, Jamestown and Williamsburg. A short walk to the beach but sidewalk all the way. Water view was beautiful.
