Fiske Cabin
The lower level features the Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, and Master bedroom with a king bed and Bath. It has an open floor plan that promotes friendly interaction. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the amenitiesâeverything but the food! The full-size kitchen has amenities such as coffee, tea, sugar, dry creamer, spices, paper goods, and all cooking utensils and tools. The outside deck, accessed from the living room, is equipped with a gas BBQ and chairs for cozy seclusion amid the trees of the lovely forest. The upper level features a loft overlooking the area below, a nice getaway for solitary pursuits. A bedroom with a queen-sized bed and another bedroom with two full-size beds and baths for additional accommodation. Smart TV, you can stream with Starlink, but expect some buffering. Also, there are DVD players.
Place was great. Excellent location. Clean and cozy. It wasnât obvious in the ad that itâs a condo attached to other units. We went to bed early to get up for a sunrise hike and whoever was staying next door got home late and woke us up. We could hear them shower through the walls.
Location is great, only 25 mins to Yosemite NP.
However, the house is overpriced for what you get. Older house with older windows, showers, cooking equipment (partially broken), older sofas etc.
On the upside, we had a fuse problem when arriving at house and it was solved by the Management company, very quickly.
The Fiske Cabin was clean, well laid out and roomy for 4 of us. Could easily accommodate 6.
The pros - nice views from deck and kitchen, airy floor plan layout, nice neighborhood, close (15 min) to the Tunnel View valley entry, and Glacier Point (30 min). Big kitchen and dinning room, and bedrooms, the beds were super comfy. The upstairs loft / sitting area is nice, but no privacy from rest of building.
The Cons - the electric stove is a pain, as all electric stoves are. Some attention to detail is needed, the bbq grill was out of propane, the remote for the sat tv didn't work properly, there is a rusty frying pan in the kitchen. Only one couch in the living room, so beyond 4 people sitting together at one time, it's a bit tight.
If it weren't for these very few con items, it would be a 5 star review.
The location is a good one for exploring the valley and glacier point area of the park. The house however is in need of some updating. 2 out of the 4 burners were not working on the stove, the vent over the stove does not work, the wall to wall carpeting is old, and goes right through the bathrooms. The only chairs on the deck are cheap plastic ones and very uncomfortable. It worked for us to explore the park, however no one wanted to spend time in the house. We paid Nordstrom's prices for a Walmart experience.
