The hotel is a true 5-star property with outstanding rooms and service. The restaurant is excellent though an expensive option if staying more than 1 night. The free breakfast was all I needed though some may consider the buffet a little limited. All in all, one not to miss, particularly if you can find a good deal on the room rate.

It has been better before

We have visited here three times in a row, always booking the junior suite and getting a lovely room in the main building. We checked in and got took to our room which was in the annex, they lady showed us our room and left. The room was bigger than normal but I couldn’t help but notice that all the windows looked out on to properties and flats, the local takeaway and lots of residential garages. I messaged the hotel to explain my disappointment. After a while, we had already unpacked, they rang the room and told us they had already upgraded our room but that we could move to the main building. I declined as we had already unpacked and wanted to relax. I was surprised this room was classed as an upgrade as the bathroom was not a his and hers, the view was awful and noisy. I could hear traffic and the public foot path below the window was being used constantly. We had to stay with the curtains closed for most of our stay. On check out the money was taken swiftly. We have enjoyed our previous years here but wouldn’t return again which is a shame as this has always been a place we looked forward to staying at.
