"The location was wrong on hotels.com. after i contacted them they finally updated it, but even when i showed the staff at the hotel he just laughed(maybe he didn't know what i was saying) I'm not sure if this was intentional, but it showed the hotel was almost right by the river, like 500m away. ..."

Staff don't speak much English, so get a translator app on your phone (e.g. Google Translator with offline Thai language pack) before you travel. Restaurant closes at 9PM, but there is a great place called Come Moon with live music. ..."
