Anniversary weekend

I was quite disappointed with the cleanliness, mainly all the windows of the property. We went to the shops and bought cleaning products and came back and cleaned all the windows (inside and out), so that we could try to see the view out to the balcony and deck area. I also cleaned the balcony area of bird droppings all along the railing, so that we could enjoy a cup of coffee while out there, overlooking the reserve.

All Decked Out needs great care and attention to reflect pictures online and experience. Windows onto deck reduced enjoyment due to cleanliness not sure they have cleaned in 12+months. There were multiple other issues. Surface clean was Ok and beds comfortable. Bring everything you need for kitchen with no simple supplies ie salt and pepper. Aspect overlooking bush is draw card and access to beach great. Driveway is steep and gravel so can be tricky. Overall value for money wasn’t our experience.

Not the best option for summer

We spent one night here instead of a week. It’s a nice enough house, although the bedrooms are fairly small, but the main issue for us was the temperature. We arrived on a 40+ degree day, and the one air conditioning unit in the living area couldn’t cope. It was cool it you sat straight in front of it, and that was about it. Three hours after our arrival it was still very hot in the living area, and the bedrooms were unbearable. The ceiling fans weren’t really effective, so the real estate agent brought a pedestal fan for each bedroom. One of our children dragged a mattress out into the living room to try and get a cooler night’s sleep. The rest of us made do in the bedrooms. By the time we went to bed we had already made the decision to move, and thankfully there was another place nearby that we changed to the following morning. I imagine this house would be okay at non-summer times of the year, but given that it’s by the beach that period is probably the time when most people want to visit. I should also mention that it also took many hours for the fridge to effectively cool/freeze, and concur that the steep, pebbly driveway would not be manageable for everyone.
