Great little hotel in downtown Aix-en-Provence

Pros: Convenient to downtown, friendly staff, modern rooms.
Cons: No complaints, the hotel met all my needs.
Location: Aix-en-Provence is the home of Paul Cezanne and has a number of good museums. The Cours Mirabeau (the main street) is lovely and the markets amazing!
I spent two nights here while touring Aix-en-Provence. It is a very welcoming hotel and convenient to everything if you don't have a car. The staff helped me find a reservation for five on a Monday night (a lot of restaurants are closed Mondays) and the Petit Dejeuner (breakfast) is very appetizing and varied. I had to get an early bus to the TGV train station the last morning, so I was happy for the short walk with my suitcase. I would definitely stay here again!

One night at the Cezanne.

The hotel is well located right ajexent to the old town. Only about 150 m from the Main square (Le Ronde). Although a bit old and worse for wear, heavy curtains and all, the room was quite big and the bed large and comfortable. Coffee machine in the hallway and a well supplied honesty bar in the reception area. The girl in the reception was extremely helpful. She took care of the luggage while we parked the car and sent it up to our room. As we came in rather late she reserved a table at a very nice restaurant for us and freely gave information on all cultural events in the city for the time of our stay. I would certainly stay here again.

Enjoyed our stay

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
My wife and I stayed at Hotel Cezanne in late August and early September. The rooms are generally small by US standards but they were decorated nicely and had no problems whatsoever. The hotel staff were very friendly and communicated well with us in English as we do not know very many french words. We decided to take advantage of the breakfast at the hotel. While very pricey, the selection was great and the cook would make anything we requested. The hotel was located about 2-3 blocks from the main thoroughfare which was very convenient. The hotel was also about 4 blocks away from the bus station that picked us up from the TGV train station outside of town. If we were to visit Aix-en-Provence in the future, we would definetly stay at Hotel Cezanne. A lovely small city with lots of daily markets and very old historical buildings (and a hundred fountains).

Charming Boutique Hotel

Pros: Free Internet, Quiet, free in-room soft drinks, art work everywhere, very helpful english speaking staff.
Cons: no on site parking.
It is charming little hotel within walking distance of the main town square (1/4 mile). Don't expect large luxury rooms like the Ritz Carlton, it is a small town hotel with a lot of artwork that makes . There is no private parking, but public parking is about 20 Euros a day, the closest being the train station just 100 feet from the hotel. (BTW, don't rent a car bigger than a Mercedes C class--as with all European towns, this one has narrow roads and parking spaces that may be impossible to get in).

Great buy, great location, great service

Pros: Free breakfast, Quiet, rated a best buy
We can't say enough about the hotel and its staff. They are friendly in general, very American-friendly, service oriented, and professional. The small buffet breakfast was wonderful and not "institutional" as it is so many place in the US. The rooms are contemporary, clean, and have adequate closet space. The kitchen, housekeeping, and desk staff are willing to help with any problem that a visiting tourist might have, and went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that we were satisfied. This is ous Aix hotel now; we see no reason to stay anywhere else. If you want the most bang for your hotel buck, this is the place; you'd be hard-pressed to find a match stateside. And the lobby espresso machine just puts it over the top!
