The hotel owner Karl greeted us at reception/check in. He was very helpful, and offered restaurant suggestions in Akureyri (eat at Greifinn; the fish stew (plokkfiskur) was the best that I tried anywhere. My wife had a blue cheese pizza that was sooo good. They have a huge menu of food options). The view of the lake and well manicured lawn from our room was amazing, both at sunset and sunrise. The large bed was comfortable, with extra pillows included. The room was clean and perfect for us. We used the onsite hot tub (included) and the couch lounge area to enjoy the view through their wall of glass windows. Breakfast was sufficient and included. Out of all the hotel stays we had over 10 days in Iceland, Hotel Natur was our favorite. We actually liked Akureyri better than Reykjavík. We will be back and stay here again. Highly recommended!

What a lovely place to stay after day one of the ring road from Reykjavik. It was the perfect end of the day. Dropped my travel gear, grabbed a beer from the bar and watched the beautiful scenery. Breakfast was outstanding and the staff were so very friendly. Definitely a 5 star travel stop.

About a 10 minute drive away from town. Nothing else around the area so plan ahead if you need to grab food or other necessities to avoid the drive back to town. Bfast was included and offered good basic options; although it would be nice to have variety from day to day. We didn’t have any interaction with staff other than at check-in. Family room was a good size and beautiful view of the water front property. It’s a great stay to catch up on rest and relax while completing the ring road.
