The location is fantastic and the staff very helpful, but the place is showing its age, especially for the extremely high price charged.

This is a delightful motel surrounded by lots of restaurants and stores. It is also a short walk from the bat bridge and we had a spectacular viewing of the bats exiting the bridge. It was also within walking distance of Black's barbecue.

It was great. Was there for business. Was very unique. lol very austin. Everything was clean. I would suggest calling ahead and telling them to exclude the drinks and snacks that are in the room as they kind of took up space. Outside of that it was great.

Very cute, the staff were all friendly. It is in a prime location. Even though it is supposedly safe, the forest room door was very hard to latch and wouldn’t latch when I left so had to switch rooms. They switched me next to the stairs and it was very noisy from the foot traffic, people in the parking lot, and rooms sermons me with loud kids. The next room also had just a lock on the handle, it was loose and didn’t feel secure. As a singular lady, didn’t feel the safest so I switched to another hotel. If it had a deadbolt, may have felt better. But the walls are so thin that you can hear everything. The property is iconic but is a bit older, the beds are very low to the ground.

We had a great staycation ant Austin Motel. It’s in an ideal location and it was very photographable and charming. Our largest complaint was feeling as though the rooms lacking certain comforts. For example - It was a cold austin night and the blankets weren’t very warm and due to the locks enabled on the thermostat, we had to wake up every two hours to change the temperature and warm up the room. Aside from this, we packed minimally, anticipating the room would have the basic shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, etc. however, they don’t have what you might expect at any other hotel. We needed lotion, Q-tips, standard bottle of water and maybe a cheap hotel slipper for the tile flooring but they don’t have that. Considering the boutique pricing, I would definitely expect this to be the standard (along with nicer toilet paper). These definitely aren’t deal breakers but something to be considered before spending the money.

Old School!

Good old school motel, drive up to your room door! One thing we didn't realize was how low the beds were to the ground, so a little difficult for older folks to get in and out of the bed. The bathrooms were tiny, but shower pressure was great! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great food at nearby Joann's Fine Foods and awesome coffee across the street at Jo's.
