The location can’t be beat, which is why the rooms and beds are small. It’s great as a base to discover Banff, you just won’t want to hang out in your hotel. There’s no lobby, the staff sits in an office just inside the exterior door, then you use your key to access the rooms upstairs. We were there right at check in so we were able to put down a deposit for the fob for a stall in the parkade a block away. We saw a show at Mellissa’s MisSteak next door and we would definitely stay at the King Edward for the same purpose again.

Room was spotless and met our needs. The room was a bit warm but putting on the ceiling helped cool down the room. You couldn't beat the location, right downtown and everything was within walking distance. The parking wasn't attached but it was underground and secure.
