"Ideal location for visiting Durham etc & good Internet. Rooms outside a little tired but superb bathroom with lovely hot water and good lighting especially good for ladies applying makeup. Bed comfortable and bedding lovely. Room very clean. Staff were good at conversing with customers. Although only stayed one night would have no hesitation in booking again and would book direct."

"Although the room was clean the bathroom bin had not been emptied. Check in was very smooth and easy, Alex was very welcoming and informative, sharing information for the local area as well as hotel. The spa pool area was good and easy to use. The only negative is you have to walk through reception and the bar area to get to it which is a little uncomfortable when wearing your dressing gown. Breakfast was very good. Location very good. I would recommend and I would stay again "

"Lovely hotel, beautiful grounds, nice deluxe spa room, comfy bed, friendly, courteous staff, all across the hotel departments. The only negative is the evening meal. The restaurant had a nice ambience. The starters were nice then we both went for the Wagu cheeseburger which made your mouth water when you read the description on the menu. It arrived and was dry, no taste, in not the toasted sesame seeded brioche bun as described but a dry catering type bun, a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato, it was served with about 12 dry fries, really disappointing to say you were allocated £32 each towards the evening meal. We would stay again but not eat at the hotel. "

"Our room was not clean - filthy window frames, the room and bathroom was dusty and grubby everywhere. The staff were all friendly but on our arrival we had to go and find a member of staff to check us in - it was deserted. Checking out was lengthy as there was confusion from the hotel about what we had booked and paid for, we were clear about our booking and showed our digital booking forms but the receptionist was not convinced by it.
