"This hotel is very well situated, the parking is a bonus and the views from the restaurant are stunning. The food was well cooked and the waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. We appreciated the age of the building and the reason why there was no lift but we struggled somewhat to lug two suitcases up to the top floor as our room was in the converted attic. The view from the room was great and the room itself was spacious, it could have benefited from a fridge and some of the roller blinds were broken which caused issue with opening and closing them. The room was noisy at night as the people next door were up a lot using the bathroom, every time they turned on the light the extractor fan would start up and we could hear it quite loudly in our room. Other than that all was fine. If you are staying in Beccles we would recommend the Waveney, great location and on the whole good."

"We needed a quiet and peaceful break away with my parents. Mum is caring 100% of the time for Dad as his mobility is not as great as it used to be and both needed the escape from the same four walls and a bit of pampering. We found the Lord Derby Cottage, and thought it looked perfect. When we arrived it was just what they both needed. The whole cottage was laid out with enough room for the walker to move around, and twin beds for them as they could get a good night’s sleep with out disturbing the other one. The kitchen was perfect to cook in, most equipment was provided where we made a couple of nights of homemade meals for them to enjoy and save Mum from slaving away in the kitchen. We enjoyed the onsite pool, it was a really good size, did a few lengths and then decided to go straight from there into the cottages hot tub. Mum even joined us, Dad sat outside on the bench provided and caught a few rays of sunshine too. That was great fun, and very relaxing. There is a games room with pool table and videos galore, a games console too. There is peace and quiet there. Nick, our host was a lovely chap and available if there were any issues. Our parents enjoyed their stay very much, I can see them coming back again, with maybe their friends, I know they have recommended the accommodation already to a few of them. The site is suitable for all ages, it has a play ground for little ones and 5 shepherd huts to rent too. Lovely lovely place."
