Hillside house with stunning sea views from all rooms, just outside the magical town of Begur in the Costa Brava. The spacious family home is available to rent year round. Situated in a quiet, secluded neighbourhood with scattered luxury villas on a forested hill. No high-rise hotels nearby. Begur, a beautifully preserved mediaeval town, is 90 minutes north of Barcelona, and 45 minutes from Gerona, in the unspoilt portion of the Spanish coast. The three-story house sleeps six comfortably, and has two balconies and four sunny patios. The garden area includes a private pool and a jacuzzi (particularly welcome during off season lets). Sea views from the balconies are superb. Five secluded beaches are accessible by car, with the closest five minutes away. Five excellent golf courses nearby, playable all year round. Begur, with its charming hilltop castle, is within walking distance and has fantastic restaurants and boutiques along its narrow, ancient streets.

It’s all about the view!
House was lovely….multiple stories with a sea view from everywhere. Enjoyed the patios, jacuzzi and pool. Quiet area during the week, but neighborhood got much busier on the weekend. Only negative is the drive up/down the mountain. Thought it was a little treacherous on some of the curves and switchbacks if another vehicle was approaching in opposite direction. Manager and owner were very quick to respond to our questions. But those views…..

wonderful views but be prepared
The location of the property is in an isolated community with a complex access route. The views were tremendous because the property is built on the side of a steep hill. There are a lot of steps e.g from the pool to the kitchen there are 51 steps and to the car on the road 68 steps! When we arrived the property had been stripped of everything - after a long drive we arrived and there was no toilet paper in the property!

disappointing
The villa was not as we expected. The views are superb and there are different areas to relax in. But it is overlooked from all angles ,the villa directly next to the swimming pool played blaring music and we felt we had no privacy and we looked directly into the villa on the rights outside dinning area. There is a smell of damp in all rooms. Not for us.

Beautiful location but villa needs work
The view from the villa is stunning, it is very spacious, the size of a family home. The pool and pool area were also lovely, a fairly new addition which was much used by our children. The villa itself however would definitely benefit from some investment. The old boiler stopped working on day 2 although this was resolved by the agents quickly by bypassing the switch. There was a constant smell of damp, especially in the kitchen, there were instructions to keep dehumidifiers on constantly in the bathrooms. We had to abandon using the main bathroom shower because it completely flooded the floor. There is a built in shower platform made of concrete or similar and the angle is off so the water floods out of the shower all over the floor. The only way to resolve this is to replace it which is why we didn’t report it. There was another shower over a bath that we all used instead. The villa isn’t easily walkable to bars/restaurants/beaches but there are plenty of all of these things within a very short drive. Begur is a lovely, buzzing, characterful town and really comes alive at night, a great atmosphere. There are so many beaches it’s a case of trying and finding the one you like best. We had a fabulous two weeks.
