Summary:

Scandia Woods cabin is a comfortable and well-equipped tri-level cabin that offers a great location in Big Bear, close to Bear Mountain, the lake, and the village. The cabin features upgraded mountain furniture and amenities, including a fully functional kitchen with granite countertops, a microwave, and a dishwasher. The living room is spacious and includes plenty of seating, as well as a 50-inch flat screen Smart TV.



The Space:

The cabin has two bedrooms on the first floor, each with sliding glass doors that lead to the side yard area and the Scandia Woods. One of the bedrooms has a queen size bed, while the other has two bunk bed sets and a trundle bed. Upstairs on the third level, there are two bedrooms with a shared half bath. One of the bedrooms offers both a king bed and a twin bed, while the other has two twin beds.



Outside, the cabin offers a beautiful new back deck with patio furnishings, a propane gas grill and relaxing spa under the stars. The cabin also offers fast wireless internet, Smart TV's to stream all your favorite apps as well as plenty of beds to accommodate everyone in your party.

Comfy, Cozy, Cute, and Clean!

I brought my kids and their friends up for a couple of nights to see some snow. The cabin is beautiful, and comfortable. The heater works great and beds were comfy. No complaints at all, we enjoyed the hot tub and quiet neighborhood! The hosts were easy to get ahold of and communication was great.

Great Experience

Stayed for two nights. Mario was extremely polite and accommodating to our late check out. He responded very fast. The location and neighbor hood were amazing, so peaceful. It does get quite warm upstairs and there is no AC, luckily it gets cool at night times and there are so many windows to let fresh air in. There is no shower upstairs and the bathroom on the living room level tends to hold water in the tub while showering but it was not a problem for us. Hot tub worked perfectly. Kitchen was beautiful. So grateful for the experience.

Listing 3 bathrooms for up to 12 guests misleading - only 2 showers. No central heat. Wall heaters on ground and first floor, space heaters in 2 bedrooms upstairs inadequate heating 1" nail found in living room carpet - something that should be picked up by a vacuum cleaner and could have been stepped on in bare feet General condition of property run down - carpeting, furniture and fixtures.

Needs some work

Our family had a great time at the cabin. It was clean and comfortable. Some of the electrical outlets don't work though. Kitchen needs a pantry. There is a moisture leak in the downstairs bedroom and the paneling is soaked.

Scandia woods experience

The location was great and the size of the house accommodated our group of 8. The house needs a little tlc. Hard to open screen on the front slider. No screen on the back slider. Light above the kitchen table was full of dead moths and bugs. Spa was leaking and unable to be repaired during our stay. The owner checked in with us often and I think he tried to fix the spa but said he couldn’t get the part needed. The deck was dirty as well and could have been swept before we arrived. But all in all it was fine and we enjoyed our first visit to big bear.

Fun Summer Getaway

Great location, accessible and quiet neighborhood. Comprehensive communication from host, easy check in and out. Comfortable beds and furniture, very cozy interiors. Kitchen is stocked with the essentials. Would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable stay

My family had a great time at our stay. It was big enoug for everyone who went and close to the local stores and to the only snow areas available to use. The movie collection could be better. We were hoping for some known movies or scary movies to keep us on out toes. Overall the stay was great. The cabin was clean and didn’t have any issues during the stay.

Cozy cabin with lots of room for the family

We just completed our stay and really enjoyed the cabin. The great room was perfect for our group and where we spent most of our time. Due to the lack of snow we spent the days exploring town, the bowling alley and laser tag but evenings were spent looking at stars, sitting by fire and dipping in the jacuzzi. We'll be back for sure.

Family Weekend in Big Bear

Loved the Cabin...plenty of room for all 5 grandkids! Nice deck with barbeque and jaccuzi. Thanks for immediate response from Mario regarding an issue with the jacuzzi! It was a great time for me and my family! Would definetly recommend this cabin!! It was very close to sledding and skiing and anything you need!

Great Location

My family and I stayed here for the first time, 7 adults 4 children and there was plenty of room for all without being on top of each other. Nice big living room that we could all gather. The location is great close to everything. Having the bbq was convenient and used it 2 out of the 3 nights we stayed and the spa a lovely bonus for the evenings. Did have an issue with adjusting the temp on one of the showers so we all used the downstairs one. It was great having the kids room downstairs with all the games, it got a lot of use. All in all we had a wonderful time and would definitely stay again. I gave 4 stars as the cabin does need a little TLC and a carpet cleaning would be good. Mario was extremely helpful and easy to work with.

Very organized

It was just right perfect place the only things we didn’t like as follow, day we came in the cabin smell felty but organized, cable was not working on the master bedroom , the coffee maker and the fan over the stove, everything else was just right very comfortable and nice location

Loved our stay here

We reached late in the night, and had no problem in getting keys and settling down quickly. It was clean and all required stuffs were in there place. We went there for large family and friend get-together, and we had space for everyone in the group. There are lot of beds, for kids as well as for adults, fast internet, satellite TVs, fireplace, and a hot tub. We will definitely plan to visit Great Bear Lake again and stay in this property.

Nice Place

The house was spacious and accommodating. Kids loved the downstairs room. We had a group of 11 and all of us were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. The location was great as well. Thank you for letting us stay there. We plan on returning in the future. *FYI: The house has 2.5 bathrooms (not 3 as stated in the description). One bathroom didn't have a shower. Wasn't a problem at all for us.

Second time I've rented this cabin!

I've rented this cabin twice now with two different groups of people and it's alway great! Walking distance to town and around the lake, if you're up for a beautiful walk around the lake. The place was very clean and homey and has tvs in a lot of the rooms, plus the hot tub is great and easy to use.

Wonderful location & cabin home!

Came to spend quality time with my 2 sons, their wife's and my grandkids. Great home with plenty of rooms and space. The cabin was exactly as describe by the site and from other reviews. Great back yard for the kids to play and snow sled. Mario thank you, my family had a fabulous time, we love to come back next year!

House was clean, had plenty of space (one room had a Cal King and a twin, another had two twins, another had a full, and the last room had 5 beds- two bunks and a separate twin). The hot tub was nice, area was quiet. The house got hot but during the day, but has an amazing breeze when you open the windows and back patio door. We enjoyed it!

Memorial Weekend Getaway

We had a wonderful time at Scandia Woods we went to enjoy the holiday weekend and celebrate a friends birthday. We arrived and the house was clean and fully stocked with basic items (e.g., dish soap, trash bags, toilet paper etc.) The outside deck has a stunning view of the mountains and the backyard deck keeps cool and has plenty of shade when the weather got hot. Mario was quick to respond to any of my questions and kind enough to let us check in a little early. The house had all the amenities we needed to clean, cook and BBQ. The hot tub was my favorite part! All the bedrooms are very nice but the master bedroom has a stunning view of the mountains that you can't miss out on. Lovely neighborhood and there are plenty of stores near by for additional supplies (e.g., CVS, K-MART and liquor stores). Overall a successful weekend! Thank you Mario!

Great cabin for a big family

This cabin was awesome and we enjoyed our stay! It was spacious, cozy, and clean. We had a big group and there was plenty of beds for everyone. The bunk beds were great for the kids and they were thoroughly entertained by the many games and foosball table. Having plenty of TV's was also nice. The location of the cabin was great, close to Summit and not too far from the village and lake. Another plus, there were no issues with hot water like other places we've stayed at in the past. The parking situation was also not an issue like we thought it would be. We were able to fit 3 cars and 1 SUV (one car had to be parked behind the 3 cars but it worked out since there was no street parking available). The only reason we gave it 4 stars was because we had a small issue with the kitchen faucet leaking that we were able to fix ourselves and there was a small nail sticking out of the wall next to the small round table that could've hurt someone if we didn't notice it right away. We did make Mario aware of it after we left so I'm pretty sure it's been taken care of. All in all we would stay in this cabin again. :)

Great place for a family getaway!

My family and myself stayed here for the weekend, and it was more than what we were expecting. Cabin was beautiful and clean. The back patio was an amazing sight with steps that led into a snow packed backyard. The rooms were comfy. I have nothing negative to say about the cabin. My family and I will be returning.
