First time visitors to the lodge. We went for their 4th of July fireworks show. Hands down, best show I believe I’ve ever seen. We stayed in the Chestnut lodge, located about a 3 minute walk to the main lodge, it was very clean and had a nice porch facing the forest. It was a wonderful stay. We will return and maybe one day we will get to see the lake come back.

You will just need to work around bits of construction here and there while areas are upgraded or maintained. And while we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, we found that the trail map left too much to the imagination and should be redone. We would recommend a stay in this historic resort and trust that the updates will be finalized soon.

I’m absolutely in love with this place! I love Dirty Dancing and seeing all the lodge history in the photos on the wall is just incredible. So sad about the lake disappearing. I can’t wait to come back. It’s a nice place to escape a night or two too. Next time I would like to plan to be able to do the trails.
