Rita, the Innkeeper and her staffs were excellent. The food was excellent and staffs were polite and always willing to help. We will definitely go back to block island and see Rita again. I highly recommend the 1661 and please don’t skip the breakfast, it’s to die for!!

Room was too small and got. We were warned about the shared bathroom but expected cleaning. Also expected help with suitcase to 2nd floor after telling the man I had a bad shoulder. Instead I was told “it’s only one fight”. You are WAY too expensive for that treatment.

Had a series of medical issues that precluded me from staying for my wife’s 65th. Policy is cancellation no potential to reschedule. I wanted to go in off season as rescheduling, but no. Crappy customer service. I didn’t plan on being hospitalized just prior.

The stay was nice. Clean and staff was friendly. But for the money that was very very expensive I would think that the place would be absolutely kept up. I understand it is on an island and prices are high. But for such a ridiculous priced inn I would expect no issues. It is simple maintenance that is not big things or take a lot of time to fix. Loft ceiling fan was making a very loud noise while on so we couldn’t have the fans on to circulate the air. The ac was already preset to a temp which was 71. And could not be adjusted so the place was very stuffy and warm. These are very simple fixes that should be kept up on and not expensive. The room was uncomfortable to sleep im due to the stuffiness and ac ineffective. The shower was gorgeous tile but dripped and didn’t shut off all the way. Simple fixes. Ac that can’t be adjusted was the biggest complaint I have. The grounds were clean but absolutely nothing to do on the grounds. Overpriced in my opinion. I would not rent again if I came to the island agsin. Overall it was ok.
