Loved the location. Step out the door and you are immediately looking at water and boats. The rooms are extremely small. We rented two rooms for seven people. I had a total of three in my room and the luggage barely fit. I can’t imagine the other room with 4 suitcases and a couple of hand bags. Rooms need to be updated.

The location of this hotel is great but our experience here was not pleasant. The fire alarm on the outside of the hotel started going off at 3:45 am and went off for roughly 45 minutes. It does not appear that it actually alerts authorities because no one showed up, good thing it was not a real fire!! There is also no hotel staff overnight so we just had to lay there and listen to it. We told the desk clerk the following morning at check out and she just kind of shrugged us off as if it wasn’t alarming or annoying. Probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Not happy about lack of cleanliness, but the service/hospitality turned out to be very good. The bathroom had not been cleaned & was very dirty. It was too late at night to reach someone for help. When I got in touch with Lucy at 7:00 am, she apologized & immediately worked on solving the problem, including thinking outside the box, since cleaners wouldn’t be arriving until a couple hours later. So someone needs to acknowledge that Lucy is a rockstar & the cleaning people need some training.

The staff was very friendly and there are three options for dining at the hotel. The Tugboat Inn is a great location to walk around Boothbay, visit stores, see great art work or go for a charted boat ride. The parking is free on site and it is a very safe area.

Our room overlooked the end of the marina and it was just perfect! It was quiet and such a relaxing stay. The room was cozy and clean, we even had a huge window to look out at the marina as well. I would 100% recommend staying here! I loved it!

Clean but TIRED

The room was clean but tired. It’s a great location that just needs an overhaul. The beds were comfortable and it was quiet. We just couldn’t get past the smell! Staff was very pleasant but all in all not worth the price.
