Lovely week at Lake Bracciano

After a hectic time in Rome it was magical to escape to the relative calm of Bracciano itself, and the absolute calm of Domus Aetruriae. Aurelio was a great host, going out of his way to be of assistance and looking after us very well. The location, the house and the garden are all very charming.

Ein Rückzugsort nach Romausflügen (mit kleinen Abzügen)

Die Unterkunft bekommt von uns 4,5 Sterne. Eine kleine 50m2 Wohnung mit Küche, schönem Bad, einem großen Doppelbett und einem Terrassenbereich der mit einer großen Hecke vom restlichen Grundstück abgetrennt ist, laden zum entspannen ein. Den beschriebenen Pool gibt es. Dieser ist aber nicht nutzbar und eine unschöne Baustelle dazu. Der Ort liegt unter der Flugzeug-Anflugschneise von Rom. Die Flieger sind zum Glück noch recht hoch. Richtig warmes Wasser gab es nicht immer. Auch die Heizung lief nur selten. Anfang Mai ist morgens noch alles klamm und feucht. Die Außentemperatur liegt bei 11-13°. Der Gastgeber ist sehr nett und bemüht sich sehr. Der 200m weiter beginnende Lago di Bracchiano mit kleinen Restaurants ist promenadenseitig keine Augenweite. Die ist einen Ort weiter in Trevignano Romano weiterentwickelter. Als Rückzugsort für Ausflüge mit dem Regionalzug vom Bahnhof Bracciano (2km entfernt) nach Rom aber eine Empfehlung.

Aurelio, der Gastgeber, ist ein sehr warmherziger und freundlicher Mensch. Seine Haus entsprach zu 100% der Beschreibung. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und wir möchten keine Sekunde missen.
