Great house in sleepy fishing village

Umpy’s Humpy was a fantastic property with everything we needed for our stay. It was neat and clean, well equipped kitchen, great deck and outdoor fire! Communication with the owner was easy and helpful. And even though there was one bathroom to share with 8 people, it worked! The local pub was also great! The house is located in a sleepy fishing village that is super quiet and the houses are all very close to each other so noise travels very well! We had a few noise complaints and our level of noise was pretty tame, especially given we had 8 adults and we were generally in bed by 10 and earlier most nights. Overall a fantastic property and a great experience on beautiful Moreton! Paradise in our own backyard!!

Umpys humpy was so homely. It had everything you could want and need. Loved the outdoor kitchen and the deck was great for all the gatherings around good food and great company. Would definitely go back.

Escape the Rat Race

Umpys Humpy is a unique “beach shack”, if wanting all the mod cons of a technology world this place is probably not for you. If wanting to reconnect with family or friends and the beach then this is atop place to do it. We had a problem with the water pump constantly turning off but we were made aware of the issue before arrival. The joys of living on an island where Tradies are not available 24/7.

Great location, away from the crowds further north. Lovely large kitchen, well appointed and functional. Wonderful dining area on the covered deck. All of the sleeping options were clean and tidy. The wall fans in the main house bedrooms were fantastic. Would certainly consider staying there again.

Awesome place to stay! The house was clean and tidy, and equipt with everything we needed. We loved the set-up of the house. Lovely quiet part of the island with lovely locals. Mosquito coils a must at that end of the Island.. Sean was helpful and great to communicate with prior to our stay. We had a great time staying at Umpys Humpy. We will definitely be booking again! Nice and tidy

Nice and clean however lots of maintenance required. eg outside shower not working only 2 burners on stove working Water pump stopped however neighbour was able to get going. No remotes working with no batteries in any and stereo not working

Umpys Humpy

A nice house for activities on Moreton island. Theres no connection to town electricity/water but like other houses at Kooringal it is very well set up with Solar panels and presumably a battery, with water from tanks; gas supply from tanks. There was no Wifi which would be nice, but probably very high set up costs on the island.

Moreton Island was awesome. House was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook. BBQ was perfect for cooking dinner and the kids loved the marshmallows cooked in the fire pit.

4 families all went to Kooringal booking 3 houses between them....Umpy's Humpy had the best gathering space (deck & outdoor fireplace) of all....kids aged 9 -21 all loved it....having seperate "dormroom' with the bunkbeds and extra mattresses was perfect

Awesome stay

We had a great time at Umptys. One member of our group arrived a day early, the host Sean was very accomodating and extended our booking with no issue, check in and out was easy, the house was big enough to accommodate us all and the location was perfect, close to the beach, gutter bar ans 4WD tracks, we would definitely book again

Great house in a beautiful location

Our trip was amazing and was great to have a really nice home base to come home to each night, sitting by the large fireplace each night was awesome. The house had a real beach side feel and was cozy we felt like it was like being at home, the neighbours are great and very friendly. We would definitely do a return trip the house was perfect for us
