Family and pet friendly Mountain Cabin with hot tub and mountain views

All utilities and wifi are up and running at Mountain High Cabin. Enjoy yourself at our stunning mountain retreat, where rustic charm meets modern comforts. This sanctuary offers breathtaking views, inviting you to take in the natural beauty of the quiet mountain valley. Relax in the hot tub, enjoy a cup of hot coffee on the multiple decks, or unwind to the sounds of nature with the variety of songbirds that frequent the property. Featuring a game room which hosts a variety of games, including an arcade with over 6,400 classic games. The outdoor space doubles as an arboretum with a small nature trail guests will enjoy exploring. An additional deck offers amazing views of the night sky for those who enjoy stargazing, peaceful yoga sessions, or leaf peeping. Just a short distance away are hiking trails, wineries, breweries, fishing spots, and mountain biking.

The space

There are three levels to the cabin. The top level is a loft with its own TV and bathroom and views of the mountains as well as a nearby pasture with horse and cattle. The middle floor offers a full laundry room, full kitchen, dining room and living room with a fireplace. There is a partially wrapped deck to step outside and enjoy the gorgeous views or a calm rock in one of the vintage Amish chairs. The bottom level can be accessed by a custom interior spiral staircase or a set of outside stairs. This level offers a play room, games and an arcade. There is also a fully stocked kitchen, studio bedroom, bathroom and living room with a TV and queen pull out couch. Off the bedroom is a set of doors that leads you to a covered deck and a dining table to enjoy a meal. Take some time to walk around the property with carved out paths and various seating options to enjoy the views. Under the parking cover, you'll find the hot tub. There are doggy bags provided to clean up after your pet. If you bring children, we provide a pack n play (no sheets provided), a high chair and toys.

Roaring Fork Falls is a short and easy walk to a gorgeous falls. Pair this with a day of golf at Mount Mitchell Golf Club for a day full of fun and nature.

Due to Hurricane Helene, there may be some hiking/road closures that are not noted in this description or in the at home manual. Please check All Trails for the most up to date information or local social media groups.

Guest access

Guests have full access for the exception of three small closets which are locked.

Other things to note

We have a ring doorbell camera on the sliding glass door on the bottom level and the top level door activated that records video and audio. There are other cameras showing around the property, however, they don't work and are not plugged in to any system. This is to ensure guest safety.

This property was exactly as described, and then some. Fantastic views and, while there were neighbors, it felt secluded! The host were communicative and quickly responded to questions. Overall, the entire experience was amazing and one of our favorite stays to date!

A calm and relaxing retreat after long days of relief work

The property is great. From the small garden path (which makes for amazing star gazing in the evening) to lots of space in the house it made for a great landing place during relief work. Great common spaces for groups to come together, but big enough to find your own niche when you needed some downtime. Great communication from host. I would for sure stay again!

Hurricane Helene

Unbeknownst at the time, we planned our trip during the time Hurricane Helene rolled through. The cabin was beautiful & the community it is located in was great. We were without power, water & cell service for a lot of the stay, but to no fault of the owners. I’m thankful for having a safe place to shelter the storm & they had plenty of games/puzzles to pass the time. Hosts stayed in contact as much as possible & the community came together to help each other. It was a 20th anniversary we will never forget!

Mountain Nirvana

We just completed 2 weeks at this wonderful cabin. We didn't want to leave! The accommodations were just as described. 3 king-sized beds with comfy mattresses were really appreciated. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The location is convenient if you want to go hiking, take day trips to other towns, or just sit and enjoy the view. We visited Boone, Blowing Rock, Black Mountain, Maggie Valley and Ashville. Burnsville itself was surprisingly nice with several good restaurants. The butterflies, a variety of birds, and hummingbirds at the feeders were all enjoyable. And the cows visible from the deck were a constant source of amusement. The mountains in the distance completed the perfect picture from inside and outside. I can't say enough about this rental property, which I highly recommend.

Serene Oasis!

We are stationed by the beach and wanted to get away to the mountains during the Fourth of July holiday. The house was wonderful and looked exactly as pictured. It was the perfect location and a short drive to Asheville. Downtown Burnsville was so sweet and we loved walking around there. The house was exactly what we were looking for and was stocked with board games and movies to spend a stormy afternoon. The views from the various decks were beautiful and my husband and I loved sitting out there at night with a glass of wine. We would absolutely visit again!

Great times in Burnsville!

We had an amazing time in Burnsville with our kids and friends for Thanksgiving in this wonderful, cozy cabin. The mountains views were perfect once the sun was out and the quietness was perfect. The cabin was super pet and kid friendly and the neighbors around the area were nice. The place was fully equipped with everything that we needed and more. There are hiking trails about 30 mins away and stores not too far up north. The host was responsive and made sure we had everything during our stay. We had an issue with the bathrooms not being properly cleaned but the host was very responsive and handled it professionally. We would absolutely recommend this property and would love to stay here again.

Great place in mountains!

Myself, my son and my brother stay here in a three day motorcycle trip. Place was clean and clean well appointed. Very cozy! Definitely will stay again if we’re in the area.
