Cons:My room smelled a bit like smoke, so maybe the hotel could have a separate smoking lounge and not allow smoking in the rooms?
After a week of traveling around Egypt and staying in some of the ugliest, most dilapidated hotels I have ever stayed in, this place was so refreshing. The neighborhood seems quite safe (I walked around by myself and didn't encounter any trouble or harassment), the street is fairly quiet, and the hotel is within walking distance to some great restaurants along the Nile. Except for the Cairo Tower, most tourist destinations are not super close by, but taxi rides are so inexpensive that it was worth it to stay in a quieter neighborhood and taxi to other parts of town. The hotel is not new but is well maintained, my room was clean and had heat and wifi, perfect shower water pressure, extremely comfortable bed, and the staff were professional and helpful. The breakfast was amazing! Great variety. And I was glad that even though I arrived well before check-in and expected to have to store my luggage, my room was available and I was able to check in early. I didn't use the fitness center or any of the other amenities, but if you're looking to stay on the North part of Gezira Island, I would recommend this hotel... good value for the price.

Great location, good rooms!
Pros:Excellent location, big rooms, nice views of the Nile.
Cons:It is in a busy marketplace, bit noisy.
This hotel is in one of the most upscale and safe areas of Cairo, Zamalek. There is lots to do and places to eat. Our room had a bay window overlooking the Nile. The street may be a little noisy but not much.
There are 2 restaurants on site, along with a coffee shop/café. You can enjoy a drink at the bar/lounge. Business amenities include a business center and 8 meeting rooms. Public spaces have free WiFi. Tour/ticket assistance, gift shops/newsstands, and concierge services are also featured at the eco-certified Golden Tulip Flamenco. Smoking is allowed in designated areas at this Cairo hotel.
