Stay in the heart of Engadine’s history in the Captains Suite, named for Captain John Keais Hoyt who built the mansion in 1885 after returning from the Civil War. This spacious suite blends Victorian elegance with modern comfort and includes a private bathroom, fireplace, and elegant period details.

Historic Touch
Captain Hoyt established Engadine as both a family estate and a thriving vineyard that produced award winning wines shipped nationwide. His daughter Mamie recalled evenings by the fire, the sound of vineyard workers singing across the valley, and the festive Christmas mornings when her father would fill the halls with laughter. Today the Captains Suite carries that same warmth and legacy for modern guests.
