We had a very mixed experience here, and unfortunately it started off poorly. If you’re considering staying at this hotel, do not book through Expedia.
We were placed in a basement room that was cold, dark, and clearly had past water issues—you could feel it from the floors and overall dampness. It was not a comfortable or welcoming space at all. When we raised our concerns, the solution offered was to pay extra to upgrade to a better room.
We did end up upgrading (at an additional cost), and once we moved rooms, the stay was much more enjoyable. However, it really shouldn’t come down to paying more just to get a room that feels clean, dry, and livable.
What was most frustrating was watching the hotel put another guest into the exact same basement room after we left it—and that person checked out almost immediately. That says a lot.
The hotel itself has good potential and the upgraded room was fine, but the initial experience left a bad impression. Be very cautious about how you book and what room you’re assigned. This could have been handled far better from the start.
