The location was great and easy access to the beach. There was a parking garage at the hotel with direct access it felt very safe.

Location, location, location. A very easy hop across the street to the beautiful beach. Parking was easy. Pool and hot tub area was nice. Rooms are a little musty but that's expected near the coast & pool. So nice they had chaos to borrow.

The ease to the beach is great and the ocean view from our room was excellent. Sitting on the patio deck and listening to the ocean is awesome. The fridge in the room is extremely noisy and needs replaced. Hooks to hang your clothes on by the tub/shower would be a nice touch. There should be a mirror to use when you drive into the underground parking to ensure that the gate has been lifted before driving forward.The continental breakfast needs to be overhauled. Not appetizing and the only bread offered was raisin bread.

We did not have an enjoyable time.The front desk was very unprofessional, and not one smile. Beat you was good except for the exceptionally large amount of traffic constantly going by with horns.Beeping and loud motorcycles. Then, on Saturday. The eighteenth there was a large protest with thousands of people in front of our room, including the entire hotel.The staff should have called us.They knew months in advance that this was going to happen.And should have gave us the option of maybe a room with a pool view, or I would have decided to go to a much quieter destination. The housekeeping staff was the best of the stay. The women always had nice smiles on their face. And did the best they could to cleanup a room that needs a lot of room.Renovation bathroom molding has been cracked and repaired.Many times shower had black in the grout. That's why we give it a very low rating would never return.

Everyone was super nice there, all staff members had a smile and always said good morning or have a goodnight…anything with manners they were on top of it let’s say! Our room didn’t have an ocean view but that’s ok it was 2 seconds to the beach with an easy crosswalk! The room was clean and ready for us when we got in, you can tell it’s an old building but they up keep it very well I’d say!

This was our first time staying here and we had such a nice time. From checking in and interacting with Fred at the front desk, we found the staff to be friendly and efficient. The star was the proximity to the beach and how easy it was to walk into town. We hardly needed our car while we were there. Great weather made Sept a great time to visit beautiful Carlsbad. We'll be back!
