Wonderful private villa with A/C, private pool, WIFI and panoramic view, close to Montalcino

Conveniently located 3 km (2 mi) from Castiglione D'orcia, Italy in the tourist area "Orcia Valley" and only 24 km (15 mi) from Montalcino. Podere Palazzo is a nice holiday home (200 sq m) with air conditioning, private pool and WiFi internet. The property can accommodate up to eight people comfortably in three bedrooms with three bathrooms.

The Ground Floor can't be rented and it is closed, as the owners live there occasionally.
They may use the pool too, when they are at the villa.

Très beau logement dans un superbe environnement

Logement bien équipé et très bien situé dans l’environnement exceptionnel de la campagne du Val d’Orcia. Le panorama autour de la maison est fantastique et très calme. La maison est séparée en deux logements indépendants. Les propriétaires sont au rez de chaussée. Ils sont très gentils et accueillants mais aussi très discrets.. L’accès au logement est un peu compliqué avec un véhicule de type citadine car c’est une piste caillouteuse avec une montée un peu raide. La piscine est très grande mais un peu profonde pour les enfants qui n’ont pied que sur une petite partie. Elle est en eau douce mais régulièrement oxygénée et désinfectée. Je recommande sans hésiter en raison de la situation et du bon rapport qualité prix dans cette région très prisée.,

Propriétaires omniprésents !!!

La villa est idéalement située et très bien aménagée. Mais malheureusement le rêve s’arrête là. Les propriétaires vivent en dessous de l’espace mis en location. Tous les soirs nous avons reçu la visite inopinée des propriétaires qui venaient de plaindre du bruit (jouer aux cartes à table c’est très bruyant en effet!!!). Les propriétaires nous ont même obligé à tondre le gazon (sur leur surveillance) et à nettoyer la piscine. C’était tout simplement humiliant ! Bref passez votre chemin il existe d’autres villas dans les environs dont les propriétaires doivent certainement être bien plus accueillants.

Authentique, sobre et qualitatif

Nous voulions être au calme, un peu isolés et bien situés pour visiter (Sienne, Pienza, San Quirico, …). Nous avons effectué des visites en Toscane le matin et avons profité de la piscine l’après-midi avec les enfants. Nous avons alterné des déjeuners et dîners au restaurant et du place. Super accueil, chaleureux, disponible et discret. A refaire sans hésiter.

Ein sehr gepflegtes und schön gestaltetes Haus. Sehr nette Gastgeber bzw. Hauseigentümer, die uns mit einem tollen Aperitif empfangen haben und gute Tipps zur Umgebung für uns hatten. Die Wohnung war sehr wirksam über eine Kühlung des Bodens klimatisiert. Man konnte sich wie zu Hause fühlen und den Bereich rund um den Pool nutzen. Sehr angenehm ist der Pool mit Wasser ohne Zugabe von Chlor.

What a tremendous place this is. The 5* house is set in the beautiful area of Castiglione. Tranquil location with amazing views of the wonderful Val D’Orcia region. Luc and Jacqueline are very kind and helpful, without being intrusive at all. The house is full with historic elements but carefully modernized with all necessary equipments. The house is spotless and in perfect condition. The pool was awesome. We will definitely come back to this dream house in this amazingly beautiful area. Strongly recommended if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful vacation in the magnificent Val D’Orcia area.

An idyllic location amid glorious farmland with wonderful views across the Val d’Orcia. We really enjoyed our stay in Podere Palazzo. The owners are very welcoming and nice and share their experience of the region. If you are looking for a beautiful and relaxing retreat in the middle of the heart of Tuscany, Podere Palazzo is the place to stay. While we weren't familiar with D'orcia prior to our trip, it is an ideal location as it's a short drive from everything Tuscany has to offer (including Montalcino, Montepulciano, and Pienza). Definitely try D'orcia wine as well, it's up there with the better known wines of the area - but is a hidden gem. We loved it! We were traveling as two couples, each with a child under the age of 2 and the property was exactly what we were hoping for. It is perched on top of a hill with sweeping views of typical Tuscan rolling hills (every room in the house has an amazing view). The property is surrounded by some large trees which helps keep the property cool in the heat of the day, and the pool was an absolute treat after a day of wine tasting. The house is a converted old farm house, and both the interior and exterior have been refinished to a high standard. It perfectly blends rustic charm with modern luxury. I really don't know how our trip could have been any more relaxing (even considering we had a 3 month old with us) We highly recommend hiring a local chef (you can ask the owner for details). We hired a chef to cook for us 3 nights during our stay, and it was truly a blessing. Not having to worry about a meal on the day we arrived worked out perfectly, as we arrived on a Sunday and most of the local super markets were closed.. Going out for dinner is nearly impossible with young children, so having the chef come to us after the kids were asleep was one of the highlights of the trip. The food was amazing as well.

Es steht inmitten der Bilderbuchlandschaft der Toskana und ist gut gelegen für viele interessante Ausflüge. Luc und Jacqueline sind sehr nett, unterstützen mit Tipps und setzen alles daran, dass sich die Gäste in ihrem Haus wohl fühlen. Einziger Wehrmutstropfen für unsere Kinder war, dass der wunderschöne Pool im Oktober bereits geschlossen war, was uns jedoch im Voraus bereits bekannt war. The house is modern, renovated with much taste and prudence, so that the original style of the Tuscan farmhouse has been preserved. It stands in the midst of the picture-book landscape of Tuscany and is well located for many interesting excursions. Luc and Jacqueline are very nice, support with tips and do everything to make the guests feel comfortable in their house. The only drawback for our kids was that the beautiful pool was already closed in October, which we already knew in advance. Therefore, we will probably have to come again in the summer ...

We had a wonderful time at Podere Palazzo. There were four of us, three travelling from NZ and myself from Dublin. The accommodation is first class. It has just been very tastefully renovated keeping the character from the past yet introducing modern design. The hosts were amazing, alway prepared to go the extra distance to make sure our holiday was special. We will definitely return and would highly recommended this property
