Beautifully Rustic Cabin just 10 minutes from UVA, with pool!

Tucked in the woods just minutes from popular destinations like Pippin Hill Farm & Winery and Potter's Craft Cider and just 10 minutes from UVA and downtown Charlottesville, this is the ideal artist's haven or wellness retreat. The cabin is surrounded by beautiful landscaping and water features and sings with life from birds to trains passing by. All of this creates a space for inspiration to enjoy a retreat to pure mountain charm.

The cabin has a storied history, originally built in the 1700s and rebuilt by local architects. The main floor features a large bedroom with vaulted wood ceilings, a historic stone decorative fireplace, and a king sized bed. This floor also has a bathroom with a modern walk-in shower, a simple kitchenette, and a large living space with a pull out king sofa. It feels like every inch of the space is adorned in warm woods, connecting to the beauty of the natural world. Upstairs, you'll find a second bedroom loft with a king sized bed and views of the salt water pool and the vast woods. The space is ideal for up to four people but may sleep six, including the king sized pull out sofa. Please inquire if your party exceeds four.

Outside, guests are invited to enjoy the salt water pool (please request in advance), the outdoor seating area, lush gardens, backyard fire pit, and "nest" style swing. Everywhere you look, you feel connected to nature's beauty. End the day relaxing by the wood burning fire pit just below the house (wood and kindling can be provide upon request). Please note: the pool is accessible upon request from 10 AM to 8 PM and closes for the season in early Fall.

Please note that the property owner and her animals live next door to the cabin. She is happy to meet you and chat about local recommendations but will also be considerate to give you your privacy. We also ask the same- please be mindful to respect the owner's home and property.

Fantastic experience

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin. The owners were so helpful. Everything was lovely. The grounds were great for exploring with a child. We also loved the animals and the train. I would strongly recommend this property and we will hopefully be back soon.

An absolutely gorgeous cabin in an idyllic setting for a weekend getaway from dc. Perfects hosts (including the furry ones). The pool was magnificent. Such a lovely and tranquil spot, I would definitely recommend!

Great Place

Girls weekend

We had such a wonderful time celebrating a girls weekend and having a surprise baby shower for a friend. The cabin was so charming and comfortable and our hosts were wonderful. We had breakfast on the porch near the garden every morning, spent the afternoon eating lunch and laughing by the pool, spent one night with face masks, wine, and takeout Italian at the cabin. For activities you can - like us - easily visit Monticello, go for nearby hikes, grab dinner in downtown Charlottesville, or watch the sunset from a nearby winery. It was a fabulous weekend. We can’t wait to go back.

Wonderful Getaway

A lovely property nestled in the woods, but with easy access to Charlottesville and Shenandoah National Park. We and the kids loved the pool and grounds, and saw deer, bunnies, and a bear during our stay. The apple trees just outside the cabin were full of fruit, and we enjoyed eating our meals outdoors in the breezeway. The cabin inside is spacious and well-decorated. Highly recommend.

What a great stay. Very private, great pool, close enough to everything, but to be clear, the listing has that it looks like it is in downtown cville but it’s about ten miles outside. It worked out fine but the listing needs to have more clarity for folks looking to be in walking distance of downtown.

One of the best places we've ever stayed!

Amazing! Immersed in nature a stone's throw from Charlottesville, in a historic cabin among wonderful owners and their friendly pets, surrounded by birdsong while you float in the pool. Hard to beat. We had an outstanding time. Jan and Nick were very welcoming, the cabin was everything we'd hoped for and access to services and the eclectic environment in C'Ville was a very short drive away. We'll be back again!

Beautiful Oasis

It was such a pleasure staying here on an incredible property and in a unique and beautiful cabin, with such kind hosts. This is the first place that we have stayed at that is actually so much more incredible than the photos in the posting. Can’t say enough...

The Arrowwood Cabin was AMAZING!!! It’s perfectly hidden away on 21 acres of peace and quiet. There is a train that rides by but you really don’t notice. The pool was also perfect. Just what we needed to celebrate our 10 year anniversary! We will be back!!

Beautiful hideaway in the woods

This a lovely and very unique property that’s tucked away in the trees — a very peaceful and tranquil spot. The cabin is thoughtfully furnished with a very unique and homely feel. Very comfortable beds and furnishings as well as well equipped. The owner has provided lots of thoughtful touches and put in lots of personal touches to make the stay welcoming and warm. Fire pit and breezeway both lovely for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. Easy, quick drive into Charlottesville to see all the sights as well as very convenient to Monticello. There’s also a big Wegman’s nearby in case you need groceries. Highly recommended stay for a weekend getaway!

Amazing as advertised

Our short experience was excellent. Great pre-arrival communication. Very welcoming when we arrived. The amenities we hoped to use (the pool), we used a lot! Space was large, clean, and comfortable. Even though the kitchen appeared small in the photos (and it is) we really did a lot with it, much more functional than I expected (the June oven was really neat). The property is nicely tucked away and really gave a sense that we were "away-from-it-all" but had all the creature comforts you might need. With the exception of the occasional train (which is well described in the listing), the surrounding sounds of the forest made for a relaxing, quiet, and serene experience. Finally, the hosts were very sensitive to social distancing and mask-wearing; clearly delineating what space was ours vs. their own. This made our trip more comfortable knowing they respected the pandemic situation. We definitely hope to return.
