The Little Mod Hotel is a great place to stay if you’re coming to Charlottesville to visit UVA or see a football game. The hotel is clean and safe. It’s fairly basic but Iit has a cool retro style and you won’t be disappointed.

The place looked really cute, but nothing in the room seemed to actually work! The TV wouldn’t connect to the hotel’s WIFI, and there was no one at the front desk to ask for help. The shower also wasn’t draining properly, so we had to stand in a pool of water while we showered. The record player also didn’t work properly. Any time we needed front staff beyond checking in, no one was there despite being told there would be. Oh yeah, and we woke up in the middle of the night to the loudest train noises!! It literally sounded like we were on top of the train. The place was very cute it just wasn’t very functional and there was no one to go to for help.

I would like to start by saying that this hotel is adorable. The decor is awesome and the staff were friendly and courteous. That being said, if you want to sleep, never ever stay in the Little Mod Hotel. The proximity to University of Virginia is perfect for visiting the campus on foot but you are so close to the action it’s impossible to get a good night’s sleep. The music from the bars was banging in our room till 2 am. I’m not talking background noise. I heard every word of every song. When that noise subsided I got a solid hour of sleep before I was awakened by what I thought was a foreign invasion but what ended up being a freight train roaring past. It feels like you are standing on a train platform is is so close. The window to the room shook every time one of the cars passed. The train must have been a mile long because it shook our room for about 25 minutes. Another hour and a half of sleep and I am now writing this review at 5am because a second, albeit much shorter train just rolled past.

Great location but SO LOUD!! We were in room 11 and it was as if there were no windows in our room. It faced one of the big bars in town and they had live music and it was insanely loud.

Other than shower clogged and the record player missing (which we loved from previous stay and they did bring one when I asked), everything is very nice and clean. Close to campus and walking distance to food.

Pleasant property very comfortable beds. Great location for walking to a football game or around town to shops and restaurants. The young man running the lobby when we arrived was charming and made us feel welcome and answered all of our questions. The hotel is located near the corner so expect a lot of foot traffic and some noise but not late into the night. Students and townies are welcoming and it’s fun to be near the action. We went for a football game so there was a lot of beer drinking and beer cans and bottles strewn about our block. I hope the students cleaned up the next morning.
