This hotel has an old worldly charm about it. The buffet at breakfast and dinner is incredible and the staff very pleasant. A lovely touch having someone play the piano in the evening. Would stay again when visiting Colombo. They organised a great 4 hour city tuk tuk tour too which was fantastic.

The hotel is a very large and noisy one, with music at the outdoor pool area going on until midnight which made sleeping difficult. The buffet restaurant is excellent. Bed and rooms were comfy, and staff are very attentive but there was building work of some sort going on on the floor above, and I could hear something like a mouse or rat in the vents at night. Overall would stay elsewhere next time.

We stayed for two weeks in The Kingsbury and it was incredible. It was our first time in Sri Lanka and we chose to stay in The Kingsbury because we were attending a wedding there. The service was amazing, the staff cannot do enough for you; holding doors open for you before you get to them, wishing you well every time you see them, cooking off-the-menu items to suit dietary requirements. The food was delicious in all the restaurants we tried. We booked to have breakfast included but we had a few excursions planned which meant leaving before 6am. We spoke to reception and they arranged for us to have a take away breakfast. Our towels didn’t get replaced one of the days but if that’s all we have to complain about in two weeks, that’s pretty good going. We would highly recommend The Kingsbury if you are planning on visiting Sri Lanka.

An excellent choice for the last day and night of a two week trip in Sri Lanka. Got to the hotel hours before the check in time, and was given a room straight away. There are multiple restaurants to choose from for dinner. Dinner at Ocean was fab! Cocktails at the roof top bar were nice. And the afternoon by the pool was chilled. All the staff were friendly and very helpful.

Smoking smell during the stay.

Property smelled like smoke even though we have requested non smoking room. People were smoking during the night and you can smell that in the hall way. Ordered hoppers from Chef Jayasinghe in person.He said they will the hoppers to our table. While we were waiting I can clearly seeing he was giving our hoppers to his favorite customers. Went back and asked again and he said we will send it back to your table. Very unprofessional behavior.

Excellent location & amenities , specially the range they have in Breakfast , only complaint is the staff ( only in the restaurant for breakfast) the service is slow & I will suggest hotel to keep staff who can give service with a smile.
