Close to Rome and beach. Great panoramic view in old town. Large roof terrace
50 km from Rome, right at the top of the mountain town of Cori, our architecturally decorated house is located at the very top of the mountain. On the terrace you stand 360 m above sea level with 180 ° panoramic views! Cori is shielded behind by higher mountains, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, and 20 km outside the sun gleams in the Mediterranean waves. Founded before Rome, Cori is today a well-preserved Middle Ages with a famous Hercules Temple from Roman times. The house is 80 m2 with living room with large corner kitchen, dining area and sofa arrangement about the corner fireplace at the window with a picturesque view. Beautifully decorated in modern Italian architectural design. Everything is new: Kitchen with cooker stove, lovely bathroom with whirlpool .. A marble staircase is sculpturally adorned to the first floor, with 2 large bedrooms, one with a balcony. Danish bedding. A narrow spiral staircase screws up to the 40 m2 roof terrace, and now you stand like on a wing of wings and look out over the landscape. On the hillside opposite is a medieval castle and 20 km outside the Mediterranean flashes behind the Pontine plain. The beach is wide white sand, sand dunes and nice clear water with pleasant water depth. And protected, so it is the first beach south of Rome that is devoid of settlement. The sun roars down, but under the covered pavilion of the terrace with a cool wine, any pain or worry will seem indifferent, swept away by the unique spectacle in which you now sit as the center.
Cori is all you want from an italian mountain village. All the houses on top of each other with steep streets and hundreds of steps between the houses. I reccomend you have good legs to stay in this village, many houses are hardly accessible by car. Marvellous views in many directions, a lot to explore. Easy acsess to Rome from neighbouring city Cisterna. Barbara picked us up at the airport for a very reasonable fee and she was always prone to help us and to take us to Cisterna for the train to Rome. She also put in some food for us in advance, as we were to arrive late in the evening. Barbara and her husband contributed grately to making the stay very memorable. Cori is a very old village with old houses, so you must expect a modest standard of the house.
