I was reluctant to book at this resort because of the reviews. Our room needed vacuuming and dusting, Wallpaper was buckled, the sauna door wouldn't close, the heat lamp switch wouldn't turn off. Other than that, it was okay. We did enjoy the pool and the dinners were phenomenal. This was our third visit; the first was our honeymoon, 20 yrs ago. Happy to see that they are renovating some of the rooms.

Comfortable

My wife and I went for a weekend getaway. Checking in we were informed we got a upgrade to a full suite which we didn't expect so it was a nice surprise. Went to dinner which was good. Nice variety at the buffet. Got to our room that was pleasant. They had different entertainment each night included. I'd probably go back there in the summer time. More things to do then. Have to give the staff a shout out. Everyone was eager to make sure things went well.

A nightmare experience

There was layer of dust on every single surface. The in-suite pool, champagne whirlpool bath and the shower were all stained and old. The couch and carpet in the room were stained and disgustingly dirty. We did not even want to sit on it or keep our stuff on them. It seems like the resort has not seen any update in last 20 years. In addition to all this there was a wasp infestation in the room. There were dead wasps in every light fixture and on the carpet. When we asked the hotel to give us another room we were told that there were no rooms available. They sent a guy with the wasp spray who sprayed a few spots in the room. But that did not help much, instead it aggravated the wasps and we saw even more wasps in the room. So we had to spend the entire night trying to watch out for them and kill them. We killed at least 20 wasps in our one night stay in that room. We checked out early in the morning since we were done dealing with this nightmare. It was so disappointing since this was supposed to be our first vacation without kids in 10 years and we were really looking forward to it.

Fun place to stay

I stayed at the lakeside suite room 218 and it couldn't have been better. The bed was comfortable and very clean , linen was changed daily like the day I first arrived. The heart shaped tub with the starlight ceiling was a plus, sitting area had a couch, table, tv and little refrigerator that worked perfectly. The balcony with table and chairs has a very good view of the lake. Front desk personnel was friendly and very helpful they answered any questions I may have had. Entertainment was good and all the guests I talked to were having a good time too everyone seemed quite happy and will be coming back again. One couple has been coming back for 18 years they just love it. There is also plentry to do there such as outdoor pool indoor pool several Jacuzzis game room with pool tables and other games . Outdoor miniature golf , archery, row boats, paddle boats and fishing . I chose the all inclusive package which includes breakfast and dinner which was very good. There are plenty of attractions in the immediate area . My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves and hope to come back again maybe try out a different room just for the fun of it.

Nice but whats the additional charges

Nice pl;ace to get away - but the travelocity change and what you get can vary - so be careful. The quoted proce is not the real price.

Great concept, just needs updating.

Pros: Friendly staff, Romance centered atmosphere, Private pools, The gift shop was surprisingly good, Activities, surrounding area.
Cons: Just needs an overhaul! rooms have been updated a bit, but a complete renovation to the grounds would do wonders.
Location: 5 min drive from Mount Airy Casino. 30 min from Camelback water park & Tannersville outlet. Pocono mountains!
Saw the off mid week deal and needed somewhere for a last minute two day getaway. Ended up staying in the Eden rooms with the private pool. I knew the resort wasn't going to be five stars, but also not a dump either. It's somewhere in between. The rooms are old but are laid out well, and updated in the right places, loved the double shower heads, the mini private pool, circular bed, also the array of activities including, archery, paddle boats, mini golf, basketball, game room, nature walk etc Lot's to do! The one problem with this place is that it needs to be brought into the 21st century They've got everything right, ( Location, type of activities, but when you pull in the place looks uninspiring, the light level is low ( probably to be more romantic ), but it's also very drab. Our room was partially renovated, which had tiled and updated bathroom, very nice. But it needs a complete overhaul. There was a huge black stain on the carpet and tons of bugs and dirt floating in the pool. Paradise stream, this would be the hottest place in the Poconos if it were just overhauled. Keep the activities, change the dinner menu up a bit and the people will flock! There were duck droppings all over the resort which i can understand probably inst under their control, but you definitely had to watch where you were stepping!
