Avis pour Waterfront Home in the Poconos, Dog friendly
This property is amazing. Great house in an incredible location. Two main bedrooms downstairs with a view of Paradise Creek. Great assortment of birds and other wildlife. We even saw a black bear one morning (we were inside :)).David is a great host that communicates very well and cares about your experience. Would recommend to anyone.
Absolutely beautiful home. David was patient with us and very kind. He even had pastries and bagels out for us! Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend. My brother in law will be back with his wife and kids in the future. Everyone loved this place.
My wife, daughter, friend and I spent seven glorious days at David's property. We were looking for a quiet place in the woods near water and away from the city (DC). We found it! The house itself was immaculate and spacious, bathrooms and bedrooms were very comfortable. We loved the game table and bar area that had separate beverage fridge. Although we checked out a couple of restaurants at the end of our stay (Frogtown Chophouse and Water's Edge), cooking at the house was so enjoyable - the kitchen was top notch with full-sized appliances. Our favorite times were sitting in our lawn chairs next to Paradise Creek for hours during the day (or playing in the creek with our dog), grilling and eating at the covered, outside dining area that had an awesome speaker, sitting at the firepit at night enjoying the fire, stars and smores, and enjoying the jacuzzi and large yard. We looked through all the activity brochures provided, and did venture out a couple of times to do some local hiking (Bushkill Falls - dog friendly), and target shooting at a local range (Sunset Hill). We left the property reluctantly, rested, and wondering how quickly we can come back.
Davidâs home was truly the best house weâve ever been in! We are very picky because we are healthcare workers, we like clean, peaceful and beautiful places so we can recharge and enjoy our family time together and without a doubt this experience has set the bar SO BRIGHT & HIGH for anything else!
The home is truly beautiful, perfectly equipped with anything you need, you can hear the sound of the river from any window or door you choose to open.
The house was immaculate, from windows to floors, bathrooms and even the alcove room (our daughterâs favorite!)
Upon our arrival, David had a beautiful and so kind welcome spread of delicious items for all of us, even for our German shepherd!
Everything was beyond anything you see in the pictures, every detail is taken care of, everything works to perfection, the water pressure of the bathrooms are perfect, jacuzzi outside while you listen to the creek under the stars was out of a hallmark movie, and if that wasnât enough, there is a whole area next to the house that we called our âprivate restaurantâ where you can choose to grill and sit at your best table as you listen to the sounds of the creek or the Bluetooth music with cafe lights all over the place! He even has taken the time to leave all around the property s long leash hooks options so our dog was free to enjoy the time with us all day in all the settings!
He has birdhouses in perfect places, so each day at noon, you have a woodpecker show, if you missed that you can catch a blue jay one right after and the list goes in and on!
If fishing is your thing, just walk to the creek and stand still and you can see them going by!
David knows how to do this, he should teach his own master class of how to make everyone feel welcomed, appreciated and cared for.
We are already planning our next holiday there and this is one of the few times that everything I write in this review is 100 times better when you experience it in person.
Thank you David for all you did for all of us! We are very grateful to you, your professionalism, your care, your spotless home and your above and beyond willingness to make us feel so special at your beautiful paradise! You truly made a huge difference for all of us ove spring break!
We canât wait to book your home again soon!
I wanted to thank David for a wonderful stay. The house was immaculate, clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen was well equipped with good working appliances, more than we needed. Plenty of extra linens. The welcome goodies along with milk and butter were greatly appreciated. BTY we loved the Pinot Noir, we are buying more!!! David was prompt to answer my questions and his recommendations of thing to,do worked out great. I highly recommend staying at his lodge.
We spent 12 days at Paradise Lodge with our daughters, son-in-law and grandchild and everyone had a wonderful time. First of all, we found an exceptionally clean house when we opened the front door, along with a yummy and extensive array of pastries, fruit, and wine set out to greet us - which were most welcome after a tiring drive. The house has keyless entry and automatic security features surrounding the property, an excellent and well-stocked kitchen, very comfortable beds and furniture, lots of linens, a really good laundry, secure WiFi that is easy to access, and smart TVs that you can program with your own apps such as Netflix - if you are even interested in TV after a day of relaxing in the hot tub, fishing or wading in the creek (a revelation to our delighted granddaughter), playing cards in the outdoor patio (you can sit there in the rain, the roof does not leak!), or discussing which stars are twinkling above the fire pit at night. One of our biggest pleasures was watching the many species of birds (and of course squirrel) that came throughout the day to the huge feeder hanging in front of window over the kitchen sink - though the cardinal who bangs his beak at his own reflection each day became the crowd favorite.
We chose the house partly for its seclusion (not to mention that gorgeous creek) but there is plenty to do for all ages in the area, and excellent food stores close by. Because our granddaughter is too young for a vaccine, we decided to mostly stay on the property, but there are two very nice playgrounds just down the road which she loved visiting - and where she was able to connect with one or two other kids. There are also a variety of outdoor games available but we never had time to set them up.
The owner, David, is extremely accommodating and very quick in response to any questions - he messages back almost as soon as you hit send.
All in all, we had a really lovely, relaxing time. Highly recommended.
