This was such a unique hotel. It's like a bost but not in super campy/cheesey way. You're right on the Atlantic ocean. The views are stunning. The food is great and so wonderful. Its in a part of town that is walkable to alot of other site.

Great location. Incredible view of the Atlantic Ocean. Friendly and nice staff. Great food at restaurant and bar. Only minor issues is the room. Balcony door didn't lock and tiolet seat was attached to toilet. But over all a good place for the money. I would definitely stay there again.

Excellent hotel, beautiful location

Lagon 2 is an excellent hotel and one of the best choices in Dakar. The location on the water is very beautiful and the hotel is very comfortable, clean and the staff are all very gracious and helpful. The air conditioning works well and the room is spacious. The breakfast is very good with beautiful views to start your day. The Lagon 1 restaurant nearby is excellent with very good seafood. From the hotel, you can walk along the water into the town and then Independence Plaza. I recommend Lagon 2 if you want a high quality hotel but not to be removed from the local culture by being in a resort.

Terrible stay and left early due to cockroaches

Do not stay in this hotel. It claims to be a 4-star hotel and it is not. There are cockroaches in the rooms and the management knows as they leave spray to kill them. The property is extremely run down, old, and has none of the facilities it advertises. A complete rip off, stay away from this hotel.

DĂšs mon arrivĂ©e, j’ai constatĂ© que la chambre mise Ă  ma disposition Ă©tait dans un Ă©tat non conforme aux standards attendus d’un hĂŽtel de votre catĂ©gorie. Plusieurs Ă©lĂ©ments graves ont Ă©tĂ© relevĂ©s et photographiĂ©s : traces d’humiditĂ© et de moisissures visibles sur les murs et en bas des cloisons, peinture sale, cloquĂ©e et dĂ©gradĂ©e, tĂȘte de lit et literie tachĂ©es, posant un rĂ©el problĂšme d’hygiĂšne, Ă©tat gĂ©nĂ©ral de la chambre nĂ©gligĂ©. Concernant la literie, je prĂ©cise qu’il y avait bien un matelas et un sommier, mais sans aucun habillage ni cache-sommier, laissant le sommier apparent, ce qui est indigne des standards hĂŽteliers et donne une impression de nĂ©gligence et d’inconfort. La salle de bain Ă©tait dans un Ă©tat inacceptable : absence totale de rideau de douche, rendant son utilisation impraticable, propretĂ© insuffisante, une seule serviette fournie pour deux personnes, nous obligeant Ă  la partager. Par ailleurs, aucun chausson n’était disponible, alors mĂȘme que le sol Ă©tait sale, ce qui pose un vĂ©ritable problĂšme d’hygiĂšne et de confort. Le balcon Ă©tait Ă©galement trĂšs poussiĂ©reux, manifestement non nettoyĂ© avant notre arrivĂ©e. Face Ă  cette situation, il nous a Ă©tĂ© impossible de rester dans la chambre. Nous avons donc quittĂ© l’établissement le jour mĂȘme Ă  20h, tant les conditions de sĂ©jour Ă©taient inacceptables. Du bon et du moins bon

Le vĂ©ritable atout de l'hotel est une vue imprenable sur la mer et un calme absolu, que ça soit au niveau du bar qu'au niveau du resto. Il faut chaud au SĂ©nĂ©gal, et le fait d'ĂȘtre dans une salle climatisĂ©e qui donne directement sur la mer est un atout indĂ©naible. Pour moi, le meilleur spot de Dakar pour manger, travailler ou avoir un rdv. Par contre, les chambres sont vieillottes, ce pour plusierus raisons : - Infiltration d'eau en temps pluie - Eaux usagĂ©e qui s'Ă©coule mal (toilette et salle de bain) - Mobilier qui se dĂ©tĂ©riore Cela ne reflete pas du tout le bar et le restaurant. Donc : super spot pour un passage d'une journĂ©e. Par contre si vous cherchez le confort d'un hotel, investissez un peu plus pour aller au pullman Ă  cĂŽtĂ©.

Si vous rĂ©servez une demi-pension, la limite de dĂ©pense pour le repas du soir est Ă 15000 CFA /personne mais personne ne vous avertit: ni l'hotel ni hotels.com. Donc mauvaise surprise lors du check out! Lieu idyllique, bercĂ© par les vagues mais peu entretenu, l'hĂŽtel se dĂ©grade. Il a fallu changer de chambre Ă  3 reprises pour trouver la bonne. La lunette des toilettes Ă©tait pleine de gouttes d'urine dans la premiĂšre (mais on nous a dit que c'Ă©tait de la peinture!). Dans la 2e: cafards . Dans la salle de bain de la 3e l'eau (propre? sale? ) gouttait de maniĂšre importante du plafond de la salle de bain. La 4e chambre, dans la partie rĂ©novĂ©e Ă©tait la bonne: belle, confortable. Mais jamais un mot d'excuse. Petit dĂ©jeuner peu fourni et rĂ©pĂ©titif. Le personnel est peu motivĂ© et ne vous propose rien: Ă  vous de deviner ce qui est disponible (cafĂ©, omelette..) Tables jamais mises correctement il manque toujours quelque chose. Le personnel prend sur une autre ce qui manque! En guise de serviette, on apporte une boite de kleenex et dĂ©brouillez-vous. Le restaurant du Lagon 2 est par contre trĂšs bon et le jeune homme sympathique et professionnel; c'est le seul! merci Ă  lui. Pas testĂ© l'autre restaurant (Lagon1) juste son bar, le lieu est magnifique. En rĂ©sumĂ©, demandez une chambre dans la partie rĂ©novĂ©e; la demi-pension ne sert Ă  rien ( la carte et les prix du restaurant sont les mĂȘmes demi-pension ou pas) et testez le bar et/ou restaurant du Lagon 1.

En fait je connais cet hĂŽtel depuis longtemps. Mais avec le Covid je n'y Ă©tais pas retournĂ© depuis 3 ans. HonnĂȘtement cet hĂŽtel devrait ĂȘtre fermĂ© car les prestations se sont considĂ©rablement dĂ©gradĂ©es et il est dans un Ă©tat limite !!!! Surtout par rapport au fait d'afficher 4 Ă©toiles ! J'ai eu de l'eau chaude pour la douche 1 fois sur 2. La chambre sentait vraiment pas bon et Ă©tait humide La vieille clim (au moins 30 ans) ne fonctionnait plus Des dĂ©tritus dans le couloir sans compter des groupes de gens qui occupaient cet espace en buvant (exagĂ©rĂ©ment) de l'alcool. La petite salle de sport n'en a plus que le nom car les machines sont inutilisables Le petit dĂ©jeuner est vraiment trĂšs rĂ©duit en choix Et la veille de mon dĂ©part on me demande si mon sĂ©jour est terminĂ© et que je ne vais pas quitter la chambre. En fait ils s'Ă©taient trompĂ©s.

Double Charged for My Stay

My stay at Hotel Lagon 2 was lovely, and the staff were terrific. The problem started when I got home, and I saw that I was charged twice for my stay. I was charged by Hotels.com and by Hotel Lagon 2. After MANY phone calls and emails (which included receipts) to Hotels.com, who in turn called Hotel Lagon 2, neither place would refund one of the charges. So either, Hotels.com never sent the money I paid to Hotel Lagon 2, or the more likely scenario, Hotel Lagon 2 was paid twice for my stay. My review would have been 100% great about my visit, but I've run out of options to correct this situation other than to leave this review. Please contact me. Thank you.
