We had a great time during our stay on the island. The condo was clean, spacious, comfortable, and had a great view and balcony. It's the perfect place for a quiet beach escape.
Property is beautiful and secluded. Condo was very nice and clean. Just a few problems: coffee pot needs replaced-unable to read brewing labels (they had worn off) and probably needs cleaning since only drips came out. The windows in front bedroom that faced the porch had curtains but shades were missing which allowed a lot of light in and room was noisy due to being next to elevator mechanical room. The beach is AMAZING and we enjoyed walking and finding some pretty cool shells. All said, I would highly recommend it.
Our 1st trip to Daufuskie and will not be the last, as long as this rental is available! Things were as pictured. Provided towels batch & beach, nice quality sheets, bedding/ pillows, they even have a nice basket of fluffy blankets in family area for lounging, kitchen is nicely equipped (perhaps need an additional large pot for cooking mac-n-cheese), foil/ plastic wrap provided, starter of coffee and sugar but bring more, nice beach chairs and umbrella (loved the tent, too) provided fun game, Tidal Ball, for beach. Don't forget to bring refillable bottles or yeti cups for beach drinks and a beach sized cooler and ice packs. Fridge has nice ice maker! We made it over with eggs in our cooler- no problem! Don't forget sodas- restaurant was out of diet coke! Also, think about spices and produce- a little hard to find at Island.
Owner was so nice and quick to respond. We rented golf cart from Daufuskie Island- the greatest!! (Rent in advance!) Saturday arrivals at 2pm and departures at 11:30 need to be made very quickly. (Ferry was very accomodating and followed up when we were put on a wait list for 1 person to be added to 11:30 depart so we were together)
Everyone was so nice and helpful. We enjoyed the wildlife (starfish, sand dollars, sting rays, sharks, dolphins, deer, black squirrels, gators, raccoons and even the fat armadillo).
Truly an unforgettable vacation and we can't wait to come back!
Relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings. Condo was very much as advertised and convenient to most things on island. It is important to remember to bring almost everything you will need during your visit because the few shops on island are very limited in offerings and have limited hours.
Vacationing on Daufuskie Island was a unique beach experience. The relaxed slow pace and low population of the island was a welcome relief to the business of everyday life. Exploring the island on the included golf cart was one of the unique elements of this stay; the island topography is beautiful. The condo was spacious and filled with natural light. The ocean view was the highlight and were the beautiful dunes. Gary and Kristen were very helpful in preparing us for our stay. They were responsive to our questions, both prior to and during our time on Daufuskie.
We had a wonderful time at this property and island! The island has the feel that you are in a nature preserve and you get to enjoy this beautiful place without many people around. The condo itself was wonderful and clean. The view was perfection.
The villa was the cleanest most well appointed property we have ever rented. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well appointed and everything we needed was available. The owners were available and very responsive to every question we had from before we even booked until after check out. We loved the peacefulness of the island and the beach was beautiful and felt secluded. We will definitely be back.
