Electronic gates (ensuring maximum privacy) and a sweeping drive lead to spacious accommodation and a great place to chill out, only 2.5 miles from Kenmare town.Your Home Away From Home. Barr Cillatha is a generously proportioned single story homes boasting floor areas of 1,500 sq.ft. (140 mt) each. A wide hallway leads to a vast open plan fully equipped kitchen with adjacent dining area and lounge. Like all other rooms, it allows much natural light into the house and has the added benefit of two French doors leading to the patio and gardens. The two very spacious bedrooms each have their own full en-suite facilities with Jacuzzi baths. Superbe location

Nous avons passĂ© une excellente semaine dans cette maison propre, spacieuse, bien agencĂ©e et au calme. La vue sur la baie de Kenmare et les montagnes du Kerry est Ă©poustouflante. Les lapins et les chevreuils Ă©taient au RDV tous les jours pour complĂ©ter ce magnifique tableau. La petite ville de Kenmare Ă  quelques kilomĂštres est agrĂ©able et animĂ©e, on y trouve tout le nĂ©cessaire : pubs, restaurants, boutiques et supermarchĂ©s. La situation de la location est idĂ©ale pour visiter les proches pĂ©ninsules : Dingle, Iveragh, Beara et la cĂŽte sud-ouest de Cork. Le seul bĂ©mol, pour nous les français qui apprĂ©cions d'ĂȘtre dehors et de profiter de la vue : des chaises longues et un barbecue seraient les bienvenus, ainsi qu'un salon de jardin en meilleur Ă©tat car celui-ci a vraiment bien vĂ©cu... Mais c'est un dĂ©tail car nous y retournerons avec grand plaisir.

The photos aligned well with actual property and the grounds were lovely for sitting outside and admiring the views and the wildlife. Only critique we had was the limited supplies available to guests. But still a lovely property.

Lovely Homey Kenmare cottage

I had heard about this cottage from a friend of mine who stayed there 15 years ago and highly recommended it . We stayed there 4 nights and it was amazing . The views were incredible and it was a special treat to have breakfast outside with the mountain and lake views . The beds were comfortable ( a tough feat for me because of back issues ). The place was very clean and comfortable . It was a special treat for my family to stay there and we all highly recommend . It has been our favorite stay in Ireland so far and we would definitely come back ! Thank you for sharing your special place with us!

Great stay at Bar Cillatah

Bar Cillatah was is a wonderful house in a beautiful setting. The house was clean, comfortable and close to the lovely town of Kenmare. Views from the house are amazing. We were able to do day trips from there such as The Ring of Kerry and Kinsale. Jer was an attentive host. We definitely recommend Bar Cillatah!

A great retreat spot to relax from the stress of traveling.

The property is stunning and for the most part a great stay. The house needs a 'spring' cleaning/update with new linens/pillows and possibly a mattress topper. Jer was very helpful when needed. Thank you for introducing us to a great cultural experience!

Review Barr Cill Atha

We had an extremely comfortable and relaxed stay in this property. It is immaculately clean, spacious and lovely and bright. It is also extremely cosy, well insulated and easy to heat. The location is very private and the elevation of the site provided panoramic views over Kenmare Bay. Jer was extremely helpful and very quick to respond to any issues. We hope to return.

A fabulous break in Kenmare

We absolutely loved our time in Bar Cill Atha. The house was in the most beautiful of surroundings. All the facilities were excellent in the house. Jer was a pleasure to deal with. I cannot fault the house and our whole party had a great break. We can't wait to return!

Excellent House Excellent Location

This is a beautiful property - easy to sit around and do nothing. Easy to spend time in. We were two couples - only dined out one evening. Perfect. Kenmare is an excellent location for touring.

Beautifully Peaceful Getaway

The property is in a beautiful peaceful location, but only a couple of minutes drive from Kenmare. My family and I spent a lovely week there, and have no issue in recommending it. The owner was always available if needed.

Coastal Mountains of Ireland

Great location on a hill overlooking Kenmare Bay two miles form Kenmare. Deer and pheasant in front yard. Home very clean and comfortable. Everything was in tip-top working order. Host was helpful and not overbearing. Provided plenty of wood for great (not smoky) fireplace.

Beeindruckend

Ein wunderschönes Ferienhaus mit atemberaubenden Blick und in einer so wunderschönen Gegend mit vielen SehenswĂŒrdigkeiten. Das Haus war wunderschön offen gestaltet und lĂ€sst den Blick aus jedem Femster, Platz in die Natur zu blicken. Lovely Holiday Home

The house is very spaceous and there is very little to complain about. The site is very beautiful and generous. One star less because of the annoying arrival: after a long day of tavelling, we first had to make ourselves familiar with the heating system as we were expected by a cold house. Furthermore, i don't agree that guests have to pay extra for gas and electricity, especially in a house announced as a luxury home.

Delights of Kenmare Rentals 14-21 September 2019

Myself, my Husband, Son, Daughter-in-Law and 8 month old Grandson had a wonderful week in a beautiful property. The location was perfect with panoramic views over Kenmare Bay. Jer Foley the owner could not have been more helpful or accommodating and we certainly look forward to returning there. Our visit in late September was blessed with beautiful weather and we were able to sit and enjoy the evening sun looking out at Magillycuddy's Reeks whilst the wild deer grazed on our front lawn less than 20 meters from us. Peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings

We had a great time in the house. It was a pleasure seeing the deer in the morning and having a cup of tea on the terrace. Plenty to see from there, though you have to drive to the hiking places. We explored a bit the Kerry Ring but actually preferred the Ring of Beara close to the house because itÂŽs not so busy and very wild and beautiful. Communication with the owner and check-in were easy.

Bar Cill Atha - review

Bar Cill Atha is a fantastic property. Inside, it's tastefully furnished to a high standard and is a very comfortable and pleasant place to spend time. Outside, it's little short of magical - offering fantastic views over the Kenmare River with the awesome MacGillycuddy Reeks in the distance. It's also very convenient - just a few minutes by car from Kenmare, which is surely the best town in Kerry! But at the same time, Bar Cill Atha's position gives the property a strong sense of seclusion and privacy - a real escape from the world! It would be hard to recommend the property too highly. My wife and I will certainly be returning!

Schön, aber fehlende Betreuung

Das Haus ist ein Traum und die Lage außerordentlich. Noch nie so ein großes und luxuriöses Schlafzimmer gesehen. Leider war das Bett irisch klein. Die KĂŒche war der Wahnsinn, aber leider ohne Einweisung in den gigantischen Gasherd. Sehr abgeschieden und absolut ruhige Lage; Rehe kamen morgens und abends bis kurz vors Fenster!!!! negativ zu bewerten ist: das Haus wird ohne persönlichen Kontakt ĂŒbergeben. Man bekommt eine gute, ĂŒbersetzte schriftl. Einweisung und ab da ist man auf sich selbst gestellt., Das kommt natĂŒrlich nicht gut an, wenn man abends mĂŒde in ein kaltes Haus kommt und muss erst die Bedienungsanleitung der Heizung lesen. Ein Sofa war nicht zu benutzen, weil die Polsterung hin war und die Matratze des 2. Schlafzimmers war durch gelegen. Einige Fensterscheiben waren blind. Alles in allem eigentlich ein sehr luxuriöses Haus, aber etwas zu selten vom viel beschĂ€ftigten Besitzer betreut, der auch einen Pub in Kenmare hat. Aber im Notfall ist er da: Wegen Sturms saßen wir fĂŒr Stunden ohne Strom und Heizung; der Vermieter kam sehr schnell und brachte uns Holz fĂŒr den Kamin und viele Kerzen.

The accommodation was beautiful, very clean, spacious, fantastic views and everything we needed

What a fantastic place. There was an immediate feeling of peace and relaxation. The views were amazing even on the misty days looking across the bay. The deer in the garden everyday both morning and evening made it magical. Kenmare is a lovely town with plenty of pubs, places to eat and many with live music. I will be going back next year. 10/10 for everything.

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne woche in diesem haus es gibt alles was man braucht und es hat eine herrliche lage. Einzig die sauberkeit wir nicht sehr gross geschrieben und das heiss wasser war fĂŒr uns ungeniessbar (geruch/geschmack) ansonnsten ein wirklich schönes haus mit supper lage fĂŒr ausflĂŒge
