Also with a fire pit and 3 TV`s.

Perfect location to trails
This location was close to all of the trails we wanted to hike. Clean and plenty of room for four friends to have a weekend getaway.

Nice neighborhood. House was not as clean as I had hoped and had some maintenance issues.
House was not as clean as I expected with us checking in an hour later to accommodate extra cleaning for COVID-19. Commonly touched areas were dirty ( light switches, door handles). Also muddy foot prints in kitchen and hallway. Hot water and hot tub temperatures were turned way down. It would have been nice to know when we arrived that we needed to adjust the water temperature. Overall the house was ok. I have stayed in the area before in a nicer place for less money.

The house was in a beautiful area, on a quiet road with other homes, but extremely quiet and private. Only concerns were the prior guest’s dishes in the dishwasher and towels in the dryer, hot tub was in pretty bad shape but useable, difficulty in reaching property manager while renting (several important issues came up and numerous messages were left with no call back-ended up having to email to get a response and without WiFi, this was very difficult). There was also no bars for cell phone service, internet, or WiFi. Besides the issues, we had a pleasant stay.

House had not been properly cleaned, no responses from owner
Would have liked to give this house a better rating as it has a lot of potential...Kids enjoyed the game room and hot tub and layout was both spacious and comfortable for our family. Problems were the cleanliness, it appeared clean superficially but then we found a previous tenant's food in the freezer and laundry in the dryer...but worst was going down to the playroom and finding dog waste on the floor. If that weren't enough, no one from the management company returned our call when we requested it be cleaned so we had to clean it ourselves. We sent several followup emails and voice messages to the management company yet but haven't ever received a response to them about this incident. The complete lack of communication on part of the management company was upsetting and is something I would factor in when renting a home in the future.

Misleading photos
We have stayed in the Canaan/Tucker County area many times and this property was unfortunately ranks as our least favorite and least recommended. It wasn't horrible, but it was a let down in several ways. Pros: The house was very clean and a good size for our group of 4. The balcony was nice, and some large strategically planted pine trees gave the "illusion" of privacy. Cons: Despite what you are led to believe by the listing photos, this home is in an established local neighborhood with houses all around it. It's an 18 minute drive to Davis, WV from the house. The kitchen, though clean, was not well stocked for a rental (no pizza cutter or other basic essential tools, old pots/pans, old appliances, etc). Every time you turned on the water anywhere in the house a loud whining noise would occur (we joked that it sounded like the "GOOOAALL!" cries of a soccer game) so if anyone flushed a toilet or ran water in the middle of the night, you could hear it from everywhere in the house. Branches and overgrown vegetation obscured the entry way / main door. Crown molding in several places in the kitchen was broken creating tripping hazards. The hot tub was clean but very old and some of the jets didn't work. The upstairs bathroom fan and light was broken and dusty/gross. If we had known about the neighborhood location we would have chosen a different rental. The photos should be more accurate representations and less an attempt to make you believe you'll be in the middle of a private and remote setting.
