Excellent cabin. Very clean. Beautiful views. Check in/Check out was easy. Kitchen was stocked well enough to cook meals. The driveway absolutely requires a vehicle that is high off the ground with 4 wheel drive. One of the previous guests wrote in the guest book that they made it in a Corolla, and I have no idea how they managed that!

GREAT GETAWAY!

This is a lovely property! The loft is well-maintained, nicely decorated and has a comfy bed. James was responsive and attentive. The view was gorgeous and it was a great place to relax on the deck, enjoy the sunset, play cards and listen to all of the birds. The road was tough and I highly recommend AWD with a high ground clearance if possible. It may have been tougher than normal due to all of the rain that has come through there recently. Worth the drive though! Thanks to James and his beautiful house!

Cozy, mountaintop retreat

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the Overlook cabin. It was the perfect place to come back to after spending my days exploring caverns in the area and hiking in the Shenandoah National Park. James provided clear directions including a helpful information binder in the cabin. The place was clean with the usual amenities. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful cabin getaway

This property was an amazing cabin getaway. The views from the windows were simply stunning. It was quiet and secluded. The house has everything needed. Hiking and the national park were a reasonable drive. The town of Elkton was great with small shops and restaurants as well as anything needed like groceries. James was an excellent host. Communication was great. Overall, highly recommend staying here.

We had a perfect 3 night stay at Overlook Mountain - great house, gorgeous location, and stunning stars at night! We 100% support James’ recommendation of AWD/4WD vehicles, even in summer! The view is so worth the climb!

Beautiful View, Cozy Stay

Our stay was absolutely perfect. James was very communicative and did everything to make sure our stay was exactly what we needed. We got to play with some roosters, saw a cute black and white kitty, and enjoyed coffee on the brisk mornings out on the deck overlooking the gorgeous trees and mountain line. The home had everything we needed and it made our stay feel like home away from home.

Thankful we drove the truck! Close enough to town and far enough to enjoy the peace quiet and view of the mountain. We stayed a week and found the cabin as described. Will stay again.
