The room was immaculate, small (and the bathroom tiny), and very charming (and the shower excellent). We quite enjoyed our stay. A strength are the common areas. We lingered quite some time in front of the fire in the lobby and then on the second floor overlooking the lobby or on the porch watching the sky turn color. We really liked that the bar (and restaurant) were attached. We last stayed here in 1992. We enjoyed it then and enjoyed it in 2025.

Have stayed here twice before and overall they stay was very nice. However, this time was average at best. Shower water was not warm much less hot. Tepid at best. This was disappointing. Brought it to the attention of the staff at checkout ( only stayed one night). Received a somewhat half hearted apology and not much else. Again a bit disappointing. Hopefully this was just a onetime experience. As said had very good experience during pre previous stays. Would consider giving it one more chance in the future as the hotel as a whole does have character.
